Thanks for a great summary Peter.

I'd like to add that you can buy your child's tickets at Safeway and save $3. You can buy a combo PNE gate pass and ride pass. Keep in mind this is different than the Ride Pass, which is for NON-PNE dates (july etc) and different than the PNE Ride pass which doesn't inlcude gate entrance (sometimes kids get free gate entrance with school report cards).

If you go the non-PNE days, there are not as many junior rides available. So, even though the PNE makes the Rides more expensive, there are more there.

Only one day left. Happy autumn everyone.

So far we have donations of large trucks and fire engines, pet shop village, barbies, Hello Kitty, care bears, lots of games (twister, operations etc), hoola hoops and more. We would love to have donations of building blocks, shape sorters and alphabet boards for the younger crowd. More announcements to come as people let us know what they are bringing.

This promises to be a fun evening and a great opportunity for families to clear out OR acquire much needed therapy materials at reasonable prices.

All money raised goes to support the ABA Support Network meetings and website (soon to come).

Please let us know if you are attending!

    Hi Dwight and Marie,
I think Surrey has the same issues that any district has. They are facing a shortfall this year, so we have yet to see the fall out. So far I have not had reports of aide time getting cut back for anyone. Don't quote me on that though.

E-mail me at wiklo@shaw.ca and we can discuss your particular case in more detail if you like.

The ABA Support Network Toy sale/ Pizza night is POSTPONED to Friday July 3rd.

We had a lot of feedback that June was just too busy. Hopefully all those who reserved can still make it.

It will still be at my house at 1176 Keil Crescent (off Cliff Avenue) in White Rock.

Please e-mail Dione at dionec@shaw.ca to confirm your attendance and tell her whether or not you will be having pizza.

    Can't wait to see everyone.

    Hi Marie and Dwight,

Surrey school district hires ABA trained aides. They must have 1000 hours experience in a home based ABA team to be hired and be willing to take 2 courses at Surrey College (which is taught by MA and PhD ABA consultants).

As well, we have an ABA Advisory to the district, where parents meet and discuss concerns and those concerns are brought to district admin.

    see http://abaadvisory.googlepages.com/ for more information.

The ABA Support Network is holding a

Toy Sale / Pizza night Social!!!

    Thursday June 4th 6-9pm

At Nancy Walton's house: 1176 Keil Crescent, White Rock (off Cliff, 3 blocks West of Stayte Street)

Here's how it works. Old timers donate their toys or ABA Supplies that are no longer being used. Come to meet newer generation parents and offer support and advice or just come to chat. Newer parents, come to buy toys and supplies at CHEAP prices. Proceeds will go to the ABA Support Network to help pay for monthly meetings.

The sale will take place from 6 – 7 pm, then we will break for dinner. At 8pm, prices will be 50% off. At the end of the night (8:30), anything that is left can be taken for FREE.

Tickets for Pizza and glass of wine (or juice or pop) will be $10 or $15 for a couple (we'd like to encourage both partners to come for the socializing). Sold at the door. Please RSVP to Dione at dionec@shaw.ca, so we know how much pizza/wine/pop to order.

If you are unable to make it to this evening, but would like to donate toys, you can contact Louise in Ocean Park (abarocks@gmail.com), Nancy in White Rock (wiklo@shaw.ca) or Dione in Panorama Ridge.

    Hope to see you there!!
