    Re: Employee or Self-Employed?
That would depend on the arrangement between each therapist and the parents, which is determined at the outset of the relationship. If the parents are not withholding EI, CPP, and taxes from fees paid then you would be considered self-employed.

Municipal Election: Get out and vote!

The election of your future school board trustees occurs tomorrow. It is critical to populate the boards with trustees who are willing to educate themselves and fight for the right of our children to continue to receive ABA services from their home consultants and therapists once in the school system. If your school board members have not been responsive in this matter then it may be time to elect new ones! After attending an all candidates meeting in SURREY and taking the time to question potential candidates I believe that STEVE MOORE and LAWRENCE PANG deserve consideration of your vote for School board trustees in Surrey. Regardless of whom you believe deserves your vote, you must get out and vote or live with the trustees elected by those who do.

    micky,
This is a common problem. We have addressed it successfully by rotating the toys. Pick a bunch that no longer hold interest and put them completely out of sight for at least 6 weeks. When you pull them out again they will seem "new" and hold interest once again. If you rotate your toy stock this way you will spend less money and less time tripping over toys. Also useful is using services such as toy traders (? langley) which are basically shops where you can trade your used toys for other folks used toys.

    Abraham,
My son has just started preschool and is on the wait list to receive a funded aide through the local child development centre via the supported child care program, which I understand is separate from the autism funding for treatment. In the meantime, I am paying one of my therapists out of pocket to attend. Ask your social worker to provide you the name of your contact for the supported child care program and get your name on the wait list. If your social worker is not familiar with the concept that most families spend well in excess of the funded amount on their ABA therapy, ask to speak to his/her supervisor to review your case.
