ABA Support Worker required in South Surrey

Grade 5 boy in South Surrey requires a support worker for the coming
school year. This student requires 28.5 hours of school support
weekly, with consultation provided by Sharon Baxter and Sarah
    Pastrana.

Ideal candidate has completed the ABA SW course through Surrey
College, however, those with many hours of home-team experience are
    encouraged to apply.

This student enjoys physical activity, and is quite easy-going and
flexible. He enjoys going to school, and is a motivated learner.

A parent in the community would like to communicate with parents of children who have experienced, or are experiencing very agressive behaviours.

This request is for moral support, or just to chat, not advice regarding ABA programming, as this is in place.

    Please email:

    seanonjk@shaw.ca

and I will pass your email address to the parent.

    Thanks in advance,

    Seanon

Hello, on behalf of another family, I'm looking for some advice.

An adult,(referred to as Dave),diagnosed with aspbergers, has been having considerable difficulty receiving disability payment.

Dave has, on occasion, worked, and was recently let go of yet another job. Since this time, Dave has been unable to find another job. He has been denied his disability funds because he has worked in the past. He has been informed that he will have to be re-diagnosed if he wishes to collect. Also, he has applied for temporary welfare assistance, but this is taking so much time.

Dave has no case worker, and sees a new person each time he has ministry contact. Then, the new person goes through all his documents……again. Anyway, Dave is getting no further, and is frustrated.

Does anyone know of an agency or person who can advocate for someone like Dave?

Any other advice on how to effectively deal with this situation would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Seanon

ABA tutor needed in south Surrey/White Rock area

Our happy 8-year-old child needs an additional member on his ABA team. His program is run under the excellent consultation of Sarah Pastrana, with input from Sharon Baxter.

Successful candidate should have an interest in education, psychology, special education, etc. This position would well suit a university student.

Experience working with children with autism is an asset but is not required, as full training will be provided.

A commitment of 2-3 shift of 2-3 hours each week is required.

Interested candidate must be at least 19 years of age, have a clear criminal record, and have reliable transportation, as we are not on a bus route.

A quick mind and playful attitude is essential.

please email a resume/letter of introduction to:
