    ABA Therapist required in the Maple Ridge area to work with a 3 year old child who has ASD. No experience is necessary. Pay is commensurate with experience. Training will be provided under the guidance of our BCBA Hilary McClinton

    Welcome to Autism – A Special Presentation and Meeting for Parents

    Louise Witt will co-present with Junior Behaviour Consultants Tracey Feenstra and Jennifer Vellenoweth from Semiahmoo Behaviour Analyst Inc. to discuss the journey from assessment through diagnosis and navigating the myriad of information that comes with an autism diagnosis.

    Louise is a social worker and parent of a child who has autism. She is a member of the Pacific Autism Family Center steering committee and an advocate in the autism community in BC.

    Tracey has been working in the field of ABA for seven years. She has worked as an ABA Support Worker for School District 36 (Surrey) and has been working as a Junior Behaviour Consultant for Semiahmoo Behaviour Analyst Inc. since 2013.

    Jennifer has been delivering BI services since 2000 in home, school, and community settings and currently works as an intern on home programs. Jennifer was team leader for an ABA Teaching Home for three years before joining SBAI.

    We are looking for 2 Behaviour Interventionist in Richmond.

    Our 7 yr old boy is calm, cute and easy going. He is on the low function side of the spectrum. Not completely non-verbal, but with only a few words. We are looking for BIs that are animated, playful, driven, engaging and with a loving and caring heart.

    The shifts are flexible in time and location (at home or at school). Please send your availability.

    The ideal candidates are:

    -Able to work independently without supervision;

    -Able to adapt to changing learning challenges such as disengaging and distractions.

    -Are at least 19 years old with a clear criminal record

    -Responsible and reliable

    -Committed to one year or more

    -Mandarin is an asset

    – B.I. Required for a home based program for my 10 year old autistic daughter.
    – Sessions are 2 hr. twice a week. After school around 3:30 – 5:30 pm
    – Training will be provided by a Behaviour Consultant.
    – Compensation is $18-$20 / hour depending on experience.
    – Criminal Records Checked

    Requirements:
    – Must have great play skills, be patient, organized, consistent and work well as part of a team.
    – Highly committed and reliable

    HELP!. Hi there! my son is 17,5 year old with low funtioning. lately , he has difficult time with dental work due to his sensory issue. i am thinking of changing the dentist place for him ( he use to go to MONARCH dental but i heard that there is the place in Vancouver General Hospital ,they specialise about adult with autism ). i would wondering if any one have any experienced ?, feed back? or any suggestion please.     Applied Behaviour Analysis line therapist / Behaviour interventionist needed
    Child age: 3 years
    Location: Surrey city centre
    Behaviour interventionists work one on one with children at home to:
    • Implement Applied Behaviour Analysis programs individualized for the child and developed by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst
    • Manage inappropriate behaviours that may arise by following an individualized behaviour plan
    • Implement strategies designed to teach academic, communication, social, self-help, leisure and independence skills
    • Record client progress using data collection systems
    • Be creative in teaching and motivating the student, be playful and silly, and have fun in learning sessions
    • Be professional – arrive on time, maintain commitments, and interact respectfully with families and other staff.

    Required skills:
    • Minimum of 1 year post-secondary education in a related field (psychology, education, etc.) An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred. Candidates with less coursework will be considered based on related experience.
    • Must have reliable transportation to and from the client’s home
    • Must have physical stamina to interact with small children.
    • Must have experience working with young children in some capacity
    • Experience with ABA, verbal behaviour, and PECS is an asset
    • Clear criminal record check
