Nancy WaltonParticipant
Calling all Therapists or Behaviour Interventionists and SEA/Support Workers.
Parents, please pass this on:
The ABA Support Network would like to encourage therapists to become members of our organization, so they can receive specific e-mails about presentations, conferences and current issues in BC.
Membership is free. Go to http://www.abasupportnetwork.com. We will often have e-mails that will go to therapist members only. This is a great way to be involved in your community and in your future.
For example, Deb Antifaev recently asked for feedback from therapists on problems with the Invoice system through Autism Funding. In the future, we would like to e-mail therapists directly about getting such feedback.
Don't let your therapists miss out. Pass this message on to them today.

Nancy WaltonParticipantSouth Surrey White Rock Toddlers
I have a therapist who may take my son to school every morning (in September) and then will be available to work by 9am in the S.Surrey area. She has worked with us for 4 years and plans to eventually work in the Surrey School district as an ABA support Worker. She is available in mid June, as that is when she graduates.
e-mail me at wiklo@shaw.ca if you need a morning therapist.
OR, e-mail me if you have a therapist who might be interested in getting early morning ABA hours (7:30 – 8:40).
Nancy WaltonParticipantBurnaby Parents:
I have been asked by a parent to meet with the Burnaby school board and admin to make a presentation about supporting ABA in their schools.
I would like to be in touch with any parents in the Burnaby district who would like to support such a presentation. You will not need to speak or do anything (unless you want to). I would appreciate input and feedback before the presentation.
Please contact Nancy at wiklo (at) shaw (dot) ca. Thanks
Nancy WaltonParticipantBook Donations
Still looking for donation of adult and children's PAPERBACKS. If you have hardcovers, only donate them if they are less than 5 years old and in excellent condition. Hardcovers don't sell as well, but are also a lot heavier for our volunteers to carry in to the sale.
Donations can be brought to Tuesday's ABA Support Network meeting (a van will be out front for collection before the meeting) or if you are in the NORTH SHORE, you can drop them off at David Bridges. E-mail me for his contact wiklo@shaw.ca.
Thanks so much,
Nancy WaltonNancy WaltonParticipantExpresso Machine needed
My son has one last anxiety, and that is expresso machines. We would like to borrow one for one or two months so we can target getting used to the machine. Please contact Nancy at wiklo@shaw.ca if you are able to live without your expresso for a while (or want to give it away, or sell it cheap).
thanks,
NancyNancy WaltonParticipantHelp!! in South Surrey
I need one or two vans (with strong drivers) to bring books from White Rock to Watermania at 8am Saturday for the ABA Support Network book sale. You just have to deliver the books and my daughter's crew will take care of the rest.
Please e-mail Nancy at wiklo@shaw.ca.
Nancy WaltonParticipantVancouver and West Vancouver
If there is anyone coming to the ABA Support Network meeting in Surrey on Tuesday, who can pick up some books from West Van and/or Vancouver (Pheonix Academy at 2409 E Pender), please e-mail Nancy at wiklo@shaw.ca.
Thanks
Nancy WaltonParticipantThe ABA Support Network will be having a SECOND HAND BOOK SALE at Watermania in Richmond on Saturday, April 17th. We are in need of VOLUNTEERS to collect and organize the books, and to work at the sale. I will help organize the whole thing as I've done several book sales like this.
We are currently collecting gently used books. We NEED CHILDREN'S BOOKS of any kind (Franklin, Barney, Harry Potter, etc) AND ADULT NOVELS (paperbacks or hardcover). Once we have our coordinators we can establish drop off locations for book donations. If you live outside of Surrey, please contact me if you would like to help collect books in your area, and I can come around to pick them up. Parents can also bring books to the ABA SN meeting on April 13th.
And lastly, come on down to Watermania for some fun, take your kids for a swim, and buy some cheap books. We will probably sell most of them for $1 (if we sell 1000 books, thats $1000!!!)
If you can help please contact the ABA Support Network at Nancy at wiklo@shaw.ca regarding your book donations and/or availability and location.
Thanks for your help.
