    Hello, everyone!
I would like to know what I can do help parents fight
for the right of our children to receive science-based treatment covered under medicare.Let me know please what I can do to help
I also have a question about fundraising.
I would appreciate any fundraising ideas that might be useful. Could anyone share how to do fundraising with the help of a church or an organization? What resources are available to help me learn more on how to fundraise for an ABA program?
We are in a pretty desperate situation and willing to do what it takes in order to stay in BC and keep fighting…
All ideas will be greately appreciated.
    Love,
    Alexandra

    SHORT-TERM JOB OPPORTUNITY – BABYSITTER

Hello! I am a parent of two boys – ages 5 and 7 – they both have autism and are in ABA programs. Their mother is in a hospital and I need to get back to work, as I am running out of my days-off. Since therapy sessions do not overlap I need somebody to be at my home (Burnaby, Middlegate area close to SkyTrain) ideally from 8:15 am to 6 pm, Mon-Fri for at least a week or two (possily more but with less hours). I AM PRETTY FLEXIBLE WITH THE HOURS AND DAYS as I can arrange to come/leave work later or work from home on certain days. Great if you have a vehicle or at least driver license as the duties will include taking/picking up a child to/from preschool two days a week. Other duties will include taking the older child to the kindergarten (across the street), providing them with a meal/snack (I do the cooking) and looking after kids when they are not in therapy. Kids are both verbal and potty-trained. Experience with kids with autism is preferred but not strictly required. If you are a babysitter or therapist, who is between jobs and looking for short-term job, please email me your resume and desired rate or simply give me a call.

If you know somebody, who may be interested, please let them know or if you know where I can look for such person, please let me know.

If you are interested, please call 778-865-5442 to schedule an interview or email me at wirth64@hotmail.com.

    Best regars,

    Alexei

    Hi everyone,

I wonder if somebody who had an experience successsfully dealing with school system can show me the right direction?

My son has Autism, he turns 7 in January, has been in ABA therapy for 4 years and recently started going to kindergarten with an aide. The problem is that school is ignoring any advice from our consultant and trying to make our aide to run programs/interventions that just don't work for him and also conflict with ones we have in our home-based program, so that the kindergarten program was nothing but a source of stress for everyone.

I am having a meeting with school principal and the resource teacher this Wednesday, but I am unfamiliar with the school system and don't know what I can and what I cannot ask them to do. I will very much appreciate if somebody who has been through this before shared their experience and advice.

    My email is wirth64@hotmail.com.

    Hello, everyone!
Our district resource teacher insists that we register for kindergarden. We are not yet given any guerantees that we will be able to have ABA therapist from our home team support my son in school. Is it strategically right move to register him, given that registration tied up with allocating funds for the school?
Any information will be greately appreciated.

    Hello, everyone!
We are having a lot of difficulties with burnaby school board.
I initially contacted district resource teacher and Special education director in February about having ABA therapist from my child's team as a SEA in school. Due to her busy schedule, SED was able to get back (after my many letters and phone calls)to me a week ago just before I was trying to get legal help.
So she informed me that in a week from now she will know if there is a posting for our school. And basically she was ambivalent about what is going to happen. I do not want to waste any more time and wait for her to inform me. could you please share with me any tips legal and otherwise on how to make it work on our terms. Your help will be greately appreciated.
