Hi Justin-
I know of some people who have a package of information created for this purpose- I would be more than willing to get it down to about a half page if you would like!

Theresa JouanParticipantI was horrified this morning to see this judgement against our amazing children.
I applaud Jean Lewis'interview on CBC Newsworld.
We will overcome!! We have to for our children.Shirley Hewko – Darren's mom
Theresa JouanParticipantHello everyone!
I have been receiving a significant number of emails lately from people who have questions about the upcoming FEAT Basic workshops.
Please excuse my attempt at efficiency (ok, really I am just too lazy to respond to everyone individually) by mass emailing a response.1) The date is November 13th, 2004 at Douglas College.
2) Yes, it is definitely a great idea for any instructors (junior, lead and senior, parents, SEAs and professionals) to attend. If you are anything like me, you may become rusty on some theoretical concepts as time passes! Consider this your 'refresher' course.
I would also like to stress that if your role is a Senior (or if you are in a position where you are training other individuals) then it is crucial to make sure that you always have a strong grasp on theoretical concepts.3) Yes, there will be opportunity to apply concepts that we talk about- with other people. You will also walk away with some feedback and perhaps ways to better the quality of therapy that you are currently delivering (there is always room for improvement in this field!).
4) At this time, we are only conducting FEATbc workshops on the Island as well as in Vancouver.
5) I strongly encourage you to get your reservations in to FEAT ASAP! I hope that everyone will be successful attending the workshop!
6) A special thank you to everyone who has emailed feedback on previous workshops. We greatly appreciate the overwhelmingly positive support from the community.

Theresa JouanParticipantHi, Gary-
In response to your last post- a FEATbc basic (Instructor) training workshop is currently in the process of being prepared. We are hoping to hold it this spring/summer- no date has yet been set. As soon as more information is available either myself or the other Instructor (who will also be teaching the workshop) will post on FEAT.
We are planning to make this a full day workshop (ie 9-5pm) as we are aiming to be as comprehensive as possible.
I hope this answers some of your questions….Theresa Tournemille
Senior InstructorTheresa JouanParticipantGuy,
Just having finished obtaining a criminal record check (in Abbotsford)- I can tell you that they cost $40 if the position is volunteer and $60 if it is a paid position you are needing the Criminal Record Check for.
Your local police stations are able to process these checks.Theresa JouanParticipantCongratulations to all! Absolutely wonderful news….gosh. I can't even begin to imagine what all of you parents must be feeling. Thanks for being such a powerful voice for these individually precious kids/ adolescents!
With my fingers crossed,Theresa Tournemille
Theresa JouanParticipantTo Anonymous re Picture Cards:
Kids Tools has a great set of picture cards that can be used over and over again for a variety of different programs (a great investment!). Only problem is that they cost about $250 (including shipping and applicable taxes).
The address to get those picture cards:http://www.education@kidstools.com
They are called "Stages Learning Materials Language Builder Picture Cards"
Phone: 604-924-5437I hope this helps,
