    Marie and Dwight,

Sorry, I missed the part in your post about them not letting you observe. I would question that. It might be worth "shopping around"

    Marie and Dwight,

My son is 9 years and of all the school experiences that we have had, preschool was the most successful. James attended a montessori preschool in Coquitlam. He has Asperger's and hadn't been diagnosed at the time. He did not have an aide but was succesful regardless. I think that the montessori format works well for these kids.

    Good Luck!

    Hello,

My son is 8 years old and has high-functioning autism/asperger's. We are having trouble with his current school in Cloverdale. The school only will allow him at school until recess until he can show that he can have one full week without any behaviour concerns. Every time my son "acts up" they send him home which has taught him a way to leave school if he wants to. Basically they have set him up for failure. We are fighting the school and have gone to the district without a lot of success. Does anyone know of any great advocates in the Surrey school district? Anyone know of a school with a good reputation for working with children with autism in the Surrey/Cloverdale/Langley area? Is there a parent support group in Surrey? Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

    Myrica
