Hello: (sorry forgot the link in the previous email!)

Sabrina Freeman asked me to post this questionnaire to this group in order for everyone’s opinions to me heard.

My name is Barbara Rodrigues. I live in the Okanagan. I am a parent of an adult son with autism and also studying for my Master’s in Psychology through the University of Roehampton. I am currently conducting my research project/thesis and I am studying parents of adult children (18+ years old) and the stresses involved.

The questionnaire is online and takes about 20 minutes to complete. It is completely anonymous. My hope is this study will shine a light on a much neglected portion of our population, the needs of parents of adult children with ASD.

Thank you in advance for your participation. Please share the link with any other groups or parents that you are affiliated with.

"For the purposes of clarity in terms of membership, Marg affirmed that CASDA is
intended not as a parent support organization nor to replace or duplicate those support
organizations, but to bring together autism organizations from across the country." Well that is for sure!! Makes me sick and what a disgrace to put him in with such a great man like Jim Munson! Mike Lake is one of the worst as he's the one whose son is getting funding and supports but he denies that same funding and support to the rest of Canadian children with autism. The worst!! And why did this organization get over 50,000.00 to create a report on facts (or lack of wording specifically for treatments) about what FEATBC and many others have already told the Government kids/adults with autism NEED!!!!!!!!! Ugh….another bunch of bureaucracp!!! As always thanks for keeping us informed Andrew.

Well done Jodie and everyone! Schools need to be doing the right thing for our kids – the Okanagan is horrific for kids with autism (those with actual behaviors anyways). I look forward to their answer in September. Good luck and

    Thank you.

Thanks Andrew for the post and info – I just shot off Senator Munson a quick email to thank him for bringing that up in Parliment. Thank you for keeping us updated and informed – I appreciate your effort and your time.

So true Bev Sharpe. And thank you for your years of dedication in the fight and advocacy for our kids for medically necessary ABA treatment.

    Andrew:

I never knew your whole story and what a McGuilty (love that name btw) was. It makes me so angry when I hear about the abuse so many families and kids in Canada have been through. Sounds so similiar to B.C. in so many ways, and the way the Liberals screwed our kids over here. Course the NDP screwed them over first, the Liberals just lied and said they wouldn't.

Glad you got a good night's sleep.
