We will be moving to the broadway and Renfrew area in east vancouver in a few months and our 4 year old son with ASD will attend Kindergarten next september. I am trying to find out which schools would be suitable him. Here are the schools within 3 kms radius. Chief Maquinna, Maquinna annex, Matthew Begbie, Laura Secoed, Nootka, A R Lord, Girabaldi and Hastings. Also a couple of private schools St.Jude's and St. francis of Assisi. I live in north burnaby area and I am looking for a hairdresser/barber, dentist and family doctors who have experience with kids on the spectrum.I have a 3 year old boy. If anyone has any info to share with me,I would much appreciate it.

Also when one hires a BI is it up to the parents to do the criminal record check?
and if not and the BIs have to do it, do they get reimbursed by the parents?What usually happens in most cases?

Hello,

We are looking for a couple of BIs/Tudor to start a program for our 3 year old son. He is energetic and loves to play. We live in the sperling/lougheed HWY area. We are looking for someone to work 4 to 6 hrs(2 hr shift) 1-3 pm M-F. I think it would be great if the BI live close by, maybe the burnaby north area. I would prefer someone with experience and looking for more hours but also would consider someone who is a student and has interest in a career in the field of Autism.

Candidates must be at least 19 yrs old.
Criminal record check with in last 12 months.
Energetic and loves working with children.
Pay will be between $12 to $16/hr according to experience.
a 12 month commitment is necessary.

Hi, I have a 3 year old son just diagnossed with ASD, so I am a new parent trying to start a Intervention program.I am currently looking for a behavior consultant. I would like to get some info if anyone has any experiences with a couple of providers. They are Josh Fouts of Laurel group and also Family centred practices. I also like to mention that I live in Burnaby near sperling station. Any recommendation would also be appreciated. I think my son is high funtioning but I do not think he has aspergers because his speech is behind if that makes any sense. Thanks in advance.
