    Hi Peter
I must confess, this is a question I have never been asked before. To voluntarily put money into your account is something that I have never thought about.
Firstly you would have to ask the Autism Funds unit if this is possible.
Secondly, from a personal standpoint, I would never hand over money to the government. Remember you want to keep the Autism Funds money separate from your personal expenditures so that you can use the latter for a medical claim with the Federal Government.
    Hope this helps

Now that the government is doing away with the Direct Funding Option, many of you may be scratching your heads trying to figure out how to transition to the Invoice Option. It's not that hard, but there are a few things to consider.
For more information visit my updated page http://asdfunding.com/directvsinvoice.aspx

For those EIBI clients left high and dry by the government, you may for the first time be looking at setting and managing a home based team. If so, pay a visit to Autism Funding in BC http://asdfunding.com for one parent's guide to the administration and funding of autism therapy in BC.

    Good Luck

    Hi Jemma
Without a doubt you should apply for the additional home owners grant.
Many of us have received the grant. It's important to remember when you fill the forms out, that many beancounters in the government don't understand that autism is a disability. Fill out the forms out carefully with that in mind, but keep your answers truthful. Don't give them more information than they ask for.
You can certainly apply for a retroactive grant, but nothing I have seen limits how far back you can go.
Refer to my web page http://asdfunding.com/propertytax.aspx for more information.
    Cheers

Safe and Secure -Six steps to creating a good life for people with disabilities.

The Safe and Secure workbook is an excellent tool for future planning for your disabled child. It now includes a full chapter on the new RDSP. It also includes will and estate planning as well as information about discretionary trusts.

This book is available free at London Drugs. I strongly recommend that you pick up a copy.

    It's Tax Time!

Yes, that wonderful time of the year is fast approaching.

For those of you still trying to get a grip on your taxes, visit my Autism Funding in BC website at http://asdfunding.com for a refresher on taxes and the world of autism.

The most common question I get asked is, which spouse should claim the different expenses. I've tried to simplify things by creating a table on my page http://asdfunding.com/whichspouse.aspx.

Good luck and if anyone spots any mistakes, please let me know.

    Cheers

    New FEAT User Accounts

There has been considerable frustration for quite a while now as new User ID and passwords have not been given out to new parents and therapists. The previous parent responsible for handing out User Ids, simply became overwhelmed with everyday life (something I'm sure we can all understand) and fell behind.

A new parent (myself) has taken over this responsibility. There is a massive backlog of emails and I suspect it will take me a couple of weeks to get through them all.

Please bear with me, as I figure this out. If you haven't heard from me within a few weeks, send another email to FEAT Admin requesting a User ID and password.

    Thanks for your patience.
