Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone has an update on how the Hewko trial is moving along. Are the May 29 – June 2 and June 5 – 9 dates still a go? or is there a chance it might finish earlier or go longer?
Thanks for any info you can share.

David and Barbara McLeodMemberHello All,
Jean Lewis is on the Bill Good Show tomorrow (CKNW 980 AM), Tuesday,May 16th at 10:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. She will be discussing the issues around the Hewko trial and Bill 33, with respect to the proposed cap of three special needs student per class.
Please call in with your horrendous school stories.
As well, please write or call your MLA to say NO to Bill 33 as discriminatory towards special needs students. Will our kids have the choice of segregation or having to attend a different school to be included in regular classroom? At this point, parents may be the last hope to stop or at least amend this Bill.
David and Barbara McLeodMemberThis is a message for Jenn Ralph.

David and Barbara McLeodMemberHi Anne,
We have our "trust" account with our local credit union. They also by request are offering us the account with no service charge. I forget the exact category but it seems to me we got the same treatment as a senior's account.
As Nancy said, just explain to them the purpose of the account and that the money is for autism therapy. We found the credit union to be very accommodating.
Good luck,
BarbaraDavid and Barbara McLeodMemberHello Feat Friends,
I want to add my encouragement to all to attend the conference on March 12. To add to Nancy's thoughts of the other day, I highly recommend Joanne Gerenser's presentation as a must see. I had the opportunity to hear Ms. Gerenser at a FEAT workshop in Washington a couple of years ago. It was so encouraging to hear a well-respected SLP talk about the importance of science and ABA in working with children with autism. It can be difficult to find an SLP to work with our children who understands ABA and can work in concert with our home programs. Ms. Gerenser was a breath of fresh air on that front. Don't miss the opportunity to hear her in person.
If you have been looking at workshop costs in the last while, you will know that the early bird registration fees (by February 25) for this calibre of presentation are more than reasonable. Make it your "must do" workshop this year. Be sure to invite any school or community folks who are involved with your children to attend as well. Let's get the 'science message" out to all.
I look forward to meeting many of our FEAT families in person. See you on March 12!
