    Parents,service providers, and therapists:

In case you didn't know, here's some important information….
It is highly unprofessional conduct to poach therapists off other people's ABA teams. It is really not acceptable to approach therapists who are clearly working with an individual in the community, school or elsewhere – and interrupt them, ask personal questions – then offer them a job on your team! It is both unethical and unprofessional. Also, using my name or saying you know me in order to entice potential recuits is as unethical as it is offensive.

There are many ethical ways to recruit for therapists. Please ensure that you or those who are recruiting on your behalf are acting professionally.

Parents – Please discuss confidentialty expectations with your ABA therapists and Behavioural Consultants to ensure they are properly prepared to protect your child's confidentiality and safety in the community.

What do children/adults with autism, people with physical disablilites, seniors or anyone who is vulnerable and subject to "government care" have in common? We live under the illusion that they share the same rights and protections as the "rest of us" or as I like to say, "the temporarily abled" Wrong! NO law exists which gives these vulnerable groups practical force and effect to the equality provisions of our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Without such law, every service, including treatment funding, our kids/adults receive are completely discretionary and can be stopped tomorrow. That's why I encourage you to join us at Civil Rights Now! and find out what you can do to protect your kids and future generations.
You can begin by tuning into The Bill Good Show tomorrow morning at 9:30 to hear Ivan Sayers and former FEAT-BC, Medicare for Autism Now, and Civil Rights Now! director, Jean Lewis discuss why Civil Rights Now! exists and why it is having the Radical Rags fundraiser. Find out what it means for your family and all British Columbians with disabilities. The Bill Good Show can be heard on CKNW @980 AM. Call in to join the conversation and win free tickets. Order tickets and find out more about Civil Rights Now! @ http://www.civilrightsnow.ca

We are recruiting for an energetic and experienced therapist to join our well-established ABA team. This is a great opportunity to work with a well managed, supervised team and wonderful adolescent boy. We live on the North Shore. You must be available to work a minimum of two day shifts (9:00 to 3:00) beginning in September. A vehicle is required.
Compensation is based on experience and performance. Interested candidates should email jean.lewis@telus.net
