Mike & JeanParticipant
The Hewko trial resumes on Monday, July 24th at the B.C. Supreme Court, 800 Smithe St. Vancouver. For those who don't know, this case involves a school aged child whose ABA treatment professionals were barred from the school by the Abbotsford School District. This is an extremely important case to watch if your child is in an ABA program and about to enter, or is already in school.
We encourage parents, therapists and supporters to attend court. Court times: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Check the trial lists on the main floor beside the court registry to find the courtroom number. Please enter the courtroom quietly and ensure all cellphones and pagers are turned off.Mike & JeanParticipantThe Hewko trial resumes on Monday, July 24th at the B.C. Thankyou very much for sharing your story, and for publically thanking Roxanne Black. Roxanne, like many other F.E.A.T. parents and supporters, has become a tireless advocate for all our kids. Thankyou Trina, for taking the time to recognize her, and thankyou Roxanne for your work on behalf of the greater good!

Applied Behaviour Analysis The School Setting
Dr. Kristen Villone
The treatment of autism is related to its characteristics, developmental etiology and basic neurodevelopmental processes. Recent research demonstrates that appropriate remediation can sometimes be effective enough for children to learn from typical environments and classrooms after intensive early intervention. In this session, Dr. Mulick will discuss how the observed characteristics associated with autistic syndrome inform effective treatment.
How do parents and professionals know what is best practice in autism treatment? How do we distinguish between fad, fashion and science in professional practice? Dr. Mulick will discuss controversial therapies in autism treatment, characteristics of these therapies that make them controversial and ways to make informed decisions when choosing treatments for the children in your care.
Dr. Villone will discuss what applied behaviour analysis looks like in the school setting, optimal ways to integrate home and school programs for the benefit of the child and how to build a positive relationship between outside experts and school professionals.
