    Therapist needed ASAP in East Vancouver

    We are looking for some ABA therapists for our 5 years old son.

    We have afternoon shifts between 3:30-6:30, and weekend shifts. The program includes community outings, and peer and sibling play. Our consultant is Kim Kirsch from Early Autism Project.

    We are looking for someone who is sensitive, fun, high energy and enthusiastic. Previous ABA experience and or knowledge of Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Music Therapy or Physical Therapy psychology would be an asset, but we are happy to provide training for the right person too.

    We are located in East Vancouver, close to Renfrew Skytrain station, and just one minute to HYW#1 Exit.

    EARLY AUTISM PROJECT IS PRESENTING A LINE THERAPIST TRAINING WORKSHOP!

    Line Therapist Training Class
    Tuesday, March 11, 2008 from 5:30-8:30pm
    Early Autism Project (EAP) will be presenting a training seminar on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis(ABA) and it¡¦s application to a home based ABA program. The material presented is developed from the research of Dr. Ivar Lovaas (UCLA) and replication studies by Dr. Glen Sallows (EAP), recognized authorities in the treatment of autism.
    This seminar will offer:
    1) The theoretical basis of ABA
    2) Extensive role playing to facilitate the practical use of ABA principles.
    3) Video presentations

    Who Should Attend:
    .New line therapists
    .Those interested in working with children with autism
    .Line therapists looking to increase their knowledge about ABA

    Learning Objectives for Participants:
    .Learn discrete trial and skills necessary to implement it
    .Learn about prompting and its effective use
    .Learn about behavioural strategies for dealing with selfstimulatory and attention seeking behaviours.
    .Increase knowledge of principles of reinforcement and building a rapport with a child
    .Learn how to record data and document behaviours

    About the Presenters:
    Kiranjit Jhaj and Ikvinder Brar are both Behavioural Consultants, trained at the
    Wisconsin Early Autism Project, a Lovaas replication site.

    (in Coquitlam/near Lougheed mall)

    Therapists needed to work with our 3-year-old autistic child who is smart, affectionate and bright. Our consultant is Margot Squire from EAP ( Early Autism Project). The shifts are usually 2 or 3 hours. Minimum 2 times per week, plus a 1.5 hours team or therapist meeting biweekly. Experience not necessary, but an asset – training provided.

    You must be with a clear criminal record check and be able to commit to at least one year.
