    Harmony House Centre for Autism Research and Education Society is pleased to announce its first round of intern training/mentoring.

    Harmony House is dedicated to inclusion and consulting ABA services and is excited to move towards training interns.

    The prospective intern should have:

    • Worked with at least 6-10 children over the past three years. The children worked with should have been of varying levels in their programming (various ages and programming focus)
    • Worked as a lead for over 2 years with 3 children
    • Had experience in school settings as :SEA/therapist/preschool assistant (desirable)
    • Be available to train over the next 12-24 months (depending on length of training).

    The prospective intern will begin training in March of 2008. Training will include both class time and field work under the supervision of an ACT approved consultant.

    All apllicants must have a Bachelor’s in psychology or related field (education/social work) and must be willing to pursue a Master’s degree.

    Harmony House is currently in operation with a succesful integrated preschool program and is dedicated to inclusion as well as consulting ABA services.

    ***Harmony House Preschool Opening Sept 2007***

    One spot available for a child diagnosed with ASD.

    As a preschool with a developmental curriculum, Harmony House encourages inclusion by supporting children with autism with their peers. 4 students will have had a diagnosis of autism and another 10 will be typical peers. The four children with autism will have individual aides trained in the methods of Applied Behaviour Analysis. These aides will be provided and supervised by a Harmony House Behaviour Consultant.

    This is an excellent opportunity for families with preschool aged children who are looking for a consultant.

    Harmony House: new preschool

    Due to the nature of inquries we wanted to post additional information.

    Harmony House's focus is continuity between home and school. Therefore the goal is to provide an in home ABA programme in conjunction with the preschool services.

    Our school will be staffed with qualified ABA personnel to supervise your home programme.

    Looking for ABA aides for new preschool!

    Harmony House is opening in September 2007! The focus of this preschool will be a developmental curriculum that allows for inclusion by supporting children with autism with their peers. Approximately 4 students will have had a diagnosis of autism and another 10 will be typical peers. The four children with autism will have individual aides trained in the methods of Applied Behaviour Analysis. These aides will be provided and supervised by Harmony House.

    The goal is to allow for observational learning for the children with autism with an emphasis on social skills, communication and play! Typical peers will be engaged in an exciting curriculum that will be accompanied by a music CD that focuses on learning about the world around them as well as developing new and amazing friendships!

    The preschool is looking for 4 ABA aides to facilitate interaction and follow prescribed goals for children with autism. The school requires one of the aides to have their Early Childhood Education license. The appropriate candidate will have worked with 3-4 families and have 500 hours of supervised ABA.
