Hey There!!! Might you just be the one?

Looking for a dedicated, patient, responsible and creative person to join our well established Lisa Wincz/Michele Fagan team. Our daughter is three and a half and is *very* verbal, affectionate, and fun. Her therapy is fascinating and her progress is swift.

You'll need to fill three: two-or-three-hour shifts a week,
plus attend team meetings every other Tuesday night.

We live in Vancouver near Main and Broadway.

Experience and knowledge in aba therapy a must.

Please call and ask for Cathy: 604-709-6003

    Thanks…

A question to my fellow FEATers…

Do you all give gifts to your therapists for the holidays?
I'd love to do something, but money is so tight this year, we can't really afford to spend the extra money…

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Cathy

    Hi Everyone,

Just another post to thank everyone involved in the Vancouver rally last week. Each speaker was amazing (you all made me teary…) and it was nice to put faces to names. Know that there are many of us that appreciate all your hard work and dedication.

I did my best to help out. I think I gathered about 75 signatures…

The whole thing re-sparked my motivation and I'm contining to gather those signatures wherever I go- keeping a copy of the petition in my bag, and "hitting-up" folks along my day.

If more of us did this, I bet the names would add up quickly and we could all make a real impact.

I also wanted to take the time to thank 11-year-old Joshua Bortolotti for his excellent work and his amazing letter to the Prime Minister. Joshua- you rock. I admire you.

Keep up the good work everyone.
Our kids are lucky to have us.

    Sincerely,
    Cathy Fitzhugh

*LOOKING FOR A FANTASTIC THERAPIST to add to our home-based, ABA team.*

My daughter is three and a half, very affectionate, fun, sweet, verbal, and low on the spectrum. We have been in a great program with Michele Fagan for just over a year now, but one of our best therapists must leave to make room for other priorities in her life and we need a special someone to fill that gap.

ABA training would be great but is not a must.
Patience, creativity, experience with children, energy,
and the capacity to multi-task is.

We live in Vancouver, near Main and Broadway.
Hours vary, but you must do three shifts a week (two or three hours each,)
and attend a bi-weekly team meeting.

Please call if interested, we need you!

    Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately, my husband and I are in the beginning stages of a separation.

I was hoping there might me other couples or parents who have gone through this and might have some information or ideas.

We are planning to have joint custody of our daughter, and what I'm really concerned about is how to successfully run an aba program in TWO households?

You can e-mail me at: scissorhappy@shaw.ca

    Thanks very much-

    hi everyone*

i'm just re-mentioning the nice red autism-support wristbands that are now available for 5$ each.

    see them at-
    https://featbc.org/Medicare_for_Autism_Now.jpg

i told my therapists about them and every member of our team decided to order one! if we all chip in, not only will we get the message out that we want "medicare for autism now," but we'll also help FEAT fund the information packages they send out to new parents who are struggling with how to begin helping their children…

    please consider buying the bracelets-
(i'm also going to order them for christmas gifts…)
it's an easy way to do a lot of good for our children.

    thanks everyone.
    keep up the good fight-
we're making a difference evry day.

    Hi There Folks,

We've had our three year old daughter in daycare two days a week since her program started. Although I've had occasional doubts about the benefits of this decision, I've really needed the time to myself, and I've felt as long as she is in a facility where the staff has the motivation and time to care for her extra needs, it's been a good thing for everyone involved.

Just recently we've sent in one of our stronger therapists to help her out for three hours in the morning. This seems to be working out perfectly: the progress is already evident…

I'd also be happy to meet with folks to discuss any of this.
Feel free to contact me too: scissorhappy@shaw.ca

    Hi Everyone,

This will be our first time filing taxes after daughter's PDD
diagnosis. Can anyone recommend a tax-person-accountant
with experience helping folks in our circumstances?

We live in Vancouver and can be reached at:
    scissorhappy@shaw.ca

    Thanks Very Much,

    Cathy and Michael
