Tutor for home base program required in the North Vancouver area to work with a 13 year boy with ASD. Experience with children with autism and/or ABA is an asset but not required.
Our son is a happy boy with interests in music, drums and piano, taking pictures and recording videos, computer wiz, as well as loving ice skating and roller-skating, swimming, rock climbing and playing outside. He has difficulty expressing himself and socializing with peers.
Training will be provided under the supervision of our certified BCBA behaviour consultant. Your role will be to systematically and scientifically teach our son communication, social and behavioural skills. You are required to collect data throughout your one on one session and at a monthly team meeting discuss the progress of the programs with the team. You will work one-on-one with our son both in-home and in the community to support his social language development, peer interactions and perspective communication skills.
Ideal for final year college students (especially those in psychology, social work or education).
The position is part time for the next 4 months and summer and hopefully full time during the next school year. Pay is commensurate with experience.

    – be at least 19 years old
    – have some experience working with children
    – have a clear criminal record check
