MemberI don't know if any of you subscribe to or read the Behavior Analyst Today. I came across an interesting article on implementing and evaluating comprehensive ABA programs by Mary Jane Weiss of Rutgers University. You can go to the link:
http://www.behavior-analyst-today.com/VOL-6/BAT-6-4.pdf
and scroll down to page 47 for the beginning of the article. It's 8 pages long and a very informative.
Enjoy.

If the link doesn't work you can email me and i'll send you a copy.

MemberBarbara,
I'm going to a company fund raising meeting about helping the Children's Hunger Fund, Monday 2pm, Richmond. The same basic ideas can be applied to raising funds for treating autistic children and improving their education at all stages of life.
It's a bit more work and organisation than winning the lottery but more reliable, too.

MemberNancy,
It may have been necessary to start with a segregated school to show the world what can be done ? There may have been other considerations, too…
Once the world has a working model to visit and to learn from the future can be designed more along the lines that you are describing, I hope.

Member"Dr. Mulick will present the first two days of the conference. His sessions are entitled The Scientific Basis for Effective Autism Treatment (day one)and Controversial Therapies in Autism Treatment (day two)."
Thank you, David and Barbara, for this notice of the three day Autism Conference at Malaspina University College in Nanaimo. It has the potential to be a fascinating and exciting conference; the DAN ! conferences certainly are. Do you know where I could find full details of the "Controversial Therapies" to be presented and the perspectives from which they will be discussed ?
Eg. within DAN ! huge strides have been taken in the last year by both doctors and researchers from multiple disciplines getting their heads together designing clinical trials and carefully taking data, which is at least published at their conferences.
It would be great to attend a conference in the flesh after 2 by QuickTime download. 25 hours of video makes one squint.
