Dione CostanzoParticipantHi everyone
There is a parent support group meeting this Thurs November 28 at 7:30pm in South Surrey.Louise Witt (parent) will be doing a really good presentation about her experience, why she chose ABA and what it has done for her son. It is especially good information for parents with a recent or new diagnosis of autism.
There will also be lots of time for networking and talking to other parents.
Please rsvp to Louise at abarocks@gmail.com
I saw her presentation last month at another support meeting it really blew me away!
Cheers,
Dione
http://www.abasupportnetwork.comDione CostanzoParticipantHi Ed
I thought I would just post this as it is such a great resource for parents:
http://www.asdfunding.com has a section "ABA Team" which has a lot of great information about setting up and maintaining an ABA team.
Also this Thursday November 28 at 7:30pm the ABA Support Network (http://www.abasupportnetwork.com) is having a parent support meeting in South Surrey where you can meet and network with parents that are experienced in setting up and running home based ABA. rsvp to abarocks@gmail.com if you are interested.
Dione
Dione CostanzoParticipantI am looking for info on social groups/meetups for teens and young adults with ASD. Please post here or email me about any that you know of.

Parents with school age children – what kind of support is your child getting in school? Has anyone been successful in getting ABA support in school? We would love to hear from you! dione@abasupportnetwork.com
Dione CostanzoParticipantAny awesome BI's out there that are interested in working in a school setting?
In SD#36 (Surrey), a model has been developed where special education assistants can get an ABA designation by completing a minimum of 1,000 hours of supervised experience on home based teams plus completing the ABA Support Worker course at Surrey College. An ABA Support Worker becomes child specific.
A home-school collaboration agreement exists and the goal is to keep ABA programming consistent between home and school.
