We're seeking temporary part-time support from an experienced ABA therapist to work with our 17 year-old daughter in August. Our daughter has been in a full-time ABA program for 14 years and has a very pleasant disposition. Shifts will include recreational outings in the West Van community. Seeking an ABA therapist or respite worker for our 14 year-old daughter while we're in North Vancouver for a week in August. Our daughter, who has Down syndrome and autism, loves to engage with people who pay attention to her. She's a happy girl who really enjoys swimming. Luckily we're staying at a motel with an outdoor pool. We only need a few shifts while we're in town visiting family but we require experienced support. Will provide brief sign language training.

Re: Vancouver School Board policy on allowing parents to provide their own ABA therapist.

Thank you to the parent who shared their frustration trying to provide or train a therapist. I hope you prevail in the end! My daughter may be facing the same situation very soon.
