Game recommendation for 10+
A new Lego game my son is enjoying is "Life of George". It's good for working on building skills. To play it, you need an iPhone/iPad/iPod(4th gen). You buy the boxed game (we got ours at the Lego store at Oakridge Mall), and then download the free Life of George app to play. Details here: http://shop.lego.com/en-CA/Life-of-George-21200/?CMP=KAC-SAHGOOGLECA&HQS=lego+life+of+george. It's rated as 14+, but I think most kids 10 & up who play with Lego would enjoy it.

*Having difficulty hiring experienced BIs*
Our son is 10, and doing well in many ways, but still needs ABA. We have a terrific BC, but have had little luck in hiring experienced BIs in the last year. We could post at colleges and universities to hire inexperienced workers and train them, but that wouldn't be ideal. Have other families been experiencing the same problem? Any tips? Thanks!

dwightmarie@shaw.caTherapist/sports instructor needed, Vancouver
We are looking for a qualified BI to work with our 9-year old son in a home-based program guided by ABA consultant Bohdanna Popowycz Kvam. Our son is high-functioning, and has many interests. He needs help with social skills and self-regulating. He also needs assistance with sports skills, such as for soccer, skating, and swimming. Being able to provide instruction in that area isnt essential, but would be an asset. We live on the Vancouver east side, near Fraser & 20th.
Thanks!

dwightmarie@shaw.caHas anyone had positive experiences with their child (Grade 2)in Christian or Catholic schools? Word is that denominational schools are more open to ABA in the classroom and may allow parents to select an SEA of their choice. Imagine that….
We appreciate any info you can pass along to us.
Thanks!

dwightmarie@shaw.caThanks so much, Nancy. Would you happen to also know whether there's sufficient funding for aides in the Surrey school district?
Thanks!
Dwight & MarieDoes anyone know of a K-8 school in the lower mainland that hires ABA-trained aides?
