The National, CBC's flagship nightly newscast hosted by Peter Mansbridge, has proven itself completely worthless to anyone who has any respect for truth.

Here is the piece of garbage they have recently produced:

    http://www.cbc.ca/national/blog/special_feature/positively_autistic/

It is important to note that Michelle Dawson is a self-proclaimed "autistic" who has never had a formal diagnosis. A newspaper report has revealed that she has supposedly "self-diagnosed" herself. Much evidence suggests she is an opportunist who is seeking profit and attention by exploiting public ignorance about autism.

Temple Grandin, a real autistic who is NOT against ABA, says:

"The problem is, you talk to parents with a low-functioning kid, who've got a teenager who still goes to the bathroom in his pants and who's biting himself all the time. This guy destroys the house, and he's not typing, no matter what keyboards you make available. His life is miserable."

Why do people like Michelle Dawson never talk about how miserable these children get without treatment? That's because they want the fame and fortune of Temple Grandin but have nothing to contribute, so they resort to any method imaginable, often at the expense of truly disabled children.

    WANTED BEHAVIOURAL INTERVENTIONIST
    NEW WESTMINSTER – QUEENS PARK

We are looking for one therapist to join our energetic team and work with our son, William. He is a very funny and sociable little boy who is bright, verbal, and learns very fast. He is almost five years old and has high functioning autism (Aspergers). He is a very happy child who loves imaginative play.

Our consultant, Michele Shilvock, is local and been working with us since our son was diagnosed in August 2007. We have a strong therapy team and have seen tremendous gains! Michele and her intern, Gabrielle Stigant, will provide ongoing supervision and training, so this would be a great opportunity for applicants who welcome frequent overlaps and opportunities to further develop their skills. The program is in-home behavioral therapy and is based on the Lovaas method of positive reinforcement.

Applicants with early child education or ABA (Applied Behavioural Analysis) experience are preferred but we WILL also consider well motivated and inexperienced applicants as well. Experience in facilitated peer play (ABA) is a definite asset. Training is provided.

We are looking for applicants who are able to work 2-3 shifts per week. The shifts are about 3 hours long.

Also, you must be dependable and willing to commit to one year at least and be able to attend Biweekly Team Meetings on Tuesdays 8:30 to 9:30 am.

Wage will be based upon skill level and experience.

If you are responsible, energetic, creative, and motivated, we would like to hear from you.

For more information, please call: (604) 527-8105 or e-mail Heather Burke at: hburke@telus.net
