    To All FEAT Members-

Just a reminder — the next FEAT discussion group meeting is Wednesday, April 17th at 7:30pm at St. Francis-in-the-Wood Anglican church in West Vancouver. We meet in the gymnasium.

We will be showing a video on peer-play within the context of an A.B.A. program.

If you need directions go to the FEAT web-page and click on FEAT Events and there is a downloadable map available.

    See you then.

    Thanks,
    Jean

hello everyone. Our family has been considering moving to Calgary. We were wondering if anyone has done the same and if they had found the services and therapy coverage better of worse than BC. Our son Tyler will be six this summer, and we want to do the best for him, as we all know how quick the time passes by. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello everyone,

Just a quick reminder and request that everyone, please, be nice to one another.

I understand there are political issues in BC now that are charged with lots of emotion and divisive along party lines. However, the topic of this board is not a left or right issue.

First, the referendum, albeit important, is obviously "off topic" for this group to debate, so we request that members please end that thread and restrict political discussions to those that are ABA related. Second, please recall that it is inappropriate and against the rules of the discussion board to swear or use words that are hurtful or insulting towards another member of the discussion group. Internet messages are quick and convenient but that speed sometimes means people say things they may not have had they written a "paper" letter that often gets a second or third reading before the envelope is sealed, stamped and mailed.

So, please read your posts over in the "preview" section before clicking the "post this message" button. Take a moment to reflect on the content of the message and the words you have chosen. If anything looks hurtful or insulting to another member, please consider rephrasing the post so it honours the rules.

Thank you all for your cooperation.

    Sabrina

In response to Melodie, first of all I think there is value in taking your child to see a variety of pediatricians. Each one will give you a slightly different perspective, understanding, and set of options.

We took our son Cameron to see Dr. DeLevie for a second assessment. While we have limited experience in this area, he nonetheless seemed to be reasonably knowledgeable about the Autism landscape, and provided us with some helpful information and leads.

Hello Everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that I have received a package from FEAT and the Autism Society. Wow lots of info to read but I am so happy to have them. I also have a lady from I.D.P. coming in on Tuesday. Again very excited about all of this. I just had to share with you. As I know you have all been where I am now. I do have another question for you all. I was wondering who has been to see Dr. Melvin DeLevie. Is he a good doctor to take Ty to? Thank you again for your time and energy on the questions I ask. Hi,
We are looking for ABA therapists/ students/ parents who are interested in a home-based ABA program in the Richmond location, specifically for my 3-year autistic boy.
Applicants need to be energetic, creative, organised and love kids.
Training will be provided by the Wiscousin Early Autism Project consultant. Start date for training will be in May/June 2002. A minimum commitment of 1 year and about 4-6 hours per week. Please email me asap with your resume.
Any already employed ABA therapists who would like extra hours are most welcomed to join our program.
PS. This is my second time to post this message. I, too, always forget to leave my email address. It is elainegee@shaw.ca
