April 25, 2002 at 6:31 am #4409Melodie PilloudMemberHello Everyone, I am just writing to tell you a couple of things. One is that we have asked our GP to send us to see Dr. Melvin DeLevi. Two is that Sunny Hill called me today to let me know that Ty will be in somewhere between 6 – 8 months. It makes me happy to know that it will not be 8 – 12 months. And the last thing is that my husband and I were able to go see a theripy session this evening. My husband and I would still like to see a few others and would love to go to the next monthly meeting as well. Well thanks for listening to me… I am just so happy that things are making a little progress. Hope all is well with you all and the kids. Melodie
April 21, 2002 at 3:37 am #4408David BridgesMemberSabrina and all:
I apologize for the strong words I used in my posts of last week. I am sorry if I offended any of my friends out there. I still believe that this should not be a forum for other issues, though, and I won't apologize for that.
April 20, 2002 at 4:03 pm #4407David ChanMemberWell, that's really cool, but be really careful.
Too many things have happened in diagnostic
test, that you should be extremely vigiliant.
Call me suspicous, but are there other
issues other than your guy not being able to
hear? Lo those many years ago, our guy
"behaved" as if he was deaf too.
How the test was conducted is also important.
When our hearing test was being conducted,
by the time they completed the test on one ear,
he as ready to split, so they said, ya, from what
we can tell, he can hear ok from the other. If it is just deafness, that's just means that the
approach will be different, i.e. no wiring and
processing issues.Lets face it like most parents we love to hear
that our kids are OK, and that it's not going to
be as complicated as we thought it was going
to be.I'm so sorry, I don't mean to rain on anyone's
parade, just be super careful, and take him
different diagnostitians of other disciplines to
get a better picture of what your guy has to
deal with.Just be careful out there
Yeah, I have spelling issues but then who
doesn'tApril 20, 2002 at 3:34 pm #4406Peggy BoonMemberJust wondering if any of you have attempted and been successful at claiming a portion of your home (ie. a therapy room) on your income taxes. E-mail me privately if you wish but other members would likely find this information useful too. ourhouse@direct.ca
Thanks.
April 20, 2002 at 6:39 am #4405Melodie PilloudMemberHello Everyone, I have yet another question for you. We took Ty for his hearing test today and the tech told us she thinks that Ty just has hearing problems… not autism. My question to all of you is… when you took your child for tests like this did people tell you the same type of thing? I would love to believe that is all that is wrong with Ty, but I just am not very sure what to think anymore. I am so confused. Anyways Thank you in advance for any info or advice you can give to me. I am sorry that I missed it… but Ty is still sick with fever and ear infections and I am still sick as well. We have to take Ty for his hearing test tomorrow afternoon. Wish me luck. I am hoping to go to the next meeting and Thank you Nancy for the offer of a ride. I will take you up on it next meeting. All the best to everyone and the kids. Melodie
