Autism Throughout the Years
by
Peggy Boon (parent, registered nurse and life coach)
GUEST SPEAKER:
Peggy is a proud wife and mother of 2 young adult children, a 20 year old daughter and an 18 year old son with autism. The Boons have been fortunate to celebrate many successes in their lives, both personally and as a family. There was a time, however, when life was a daily struggle, when they were just getting by. Today, Dalton enjoys a dating relationship, friends, school, and has travelled extensively on the international swimming circuit. His goal is to represent his country at the 2016 Paralympic Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro. Come hear tips and strategies that helped Peg and her family co-navigate the path from survive to thrive.
She is an inspiration and I trust that she can help many of us navigate the autism world while having a balanced and healthy lifestyle year after yearTOPIC:

Director, FEATBCApril 28, 2013 at 4:49 am #6530Samuel WhiteMemberI am the mother of a son is three years old and we are currently running an ABA program in our home 5 days a week. ABA is working and we want to keep the program running as long as possible even when he goes to school.
I was wondering if any parent know of any good Occupational Therapist as our Behaviour Consultant suggested to consult an OT for some of his sensory needs. I need suggestions and advice from parents who had OT intervention and ABA together and how it worked for your child.
Thanks in advance for all advice. My email address is ritun76@gmail.com
