We have some questions about taxes. Revenue Canada is saying we can't claim ABA expenses from last year. Has anyone had the same experience? If you've successfully claimed ABA expenses, under what category did you claim them? Lastly, can you recommend an accountant?
Thanks,
Dwight & Marie

question:
do any of you have a list of questions you ask potential new
lead therapists? we haven't had to interview one for a long time,
and my old questions seem rusty…thanks,

Check out the Langley times at http://www.langleytimes.com and see the article we did with it's reporter Natasha Jones. It is front page with the next 2 pages of reporting about her story and autism.
It just came out today and it is beautiful!!!

NanaimoTopic: The Reading and Writing Program: An Alternative Form of Communication
Franca Pastro will give an overview and share her experience with Nina Watthen-Lovaas reading program. Franca has successfully used this program for the past 5 years teaching her daughter to read and write whole words, to learn to spell, and to write sentences.
A wonderful byproduct of this program is that some children begin speaking when they learn object-word association.
This will be an open meeting. All are welcome.
Please email diane_t@shaw.ca if you plan to attend, so that we may plan appropriate seating and refreshments.
Hope to see you there.
Thanks.

I'm wondering about sending my 5 year old (high-functioning) daughter to a Pedalheads bike camp in Coquitlam this summer. Does anyone have any experience with this organisation, and if so, would they recommend them?
Thanks in advance!

If you're looking for therapists, we've had some success by posting ads on the UBC online job board: https://www.careersonline.ubc.ca/employer/
The cost is $15.00 per ad, and they'll run it for a week or more. Make the ad informative so that students who apply know what the work involves. Make it clear that applicants need to have experience working with children.

DianeApril 3, 2006 at 12:35 am #4988Mike & JeanParticipantThe Education lawsuit starts tomorrow, Monday, April 3rd.
As a review; This case is about schools blocking children in A.B.A. treatment programs equal access to education by barring their properly trained A.B.A.therapists and Behavioural Consultants from the schools. In this particular case, it's about one little boy, however, this is a systemic problem in the majority of school districts in B.C.
The case is between an Abbotsford family and the School District of Abbotsford and the B.C. Ministry of Education. It will be in the Supreme Court of B.C. Courthouse at 800 Smithe St. in Vancouver. Madam Justice Koenigsberg will hear the case. The courtroom will be posted on the bulletin boards in the main lobby (street level).
Court times are 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (with a short morning break) and 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. (again with one break.)
This is open to the public. Any interested parent or supporter is welcome to come.
If you do come by, enter the court room quietly and please turn off all cell phones and pagers.
See you there!
