Special thanks to ABA therapists, Theresa Tournemille and Courtney Mapson for getting all those signatures on petitions! You should have seen these two work the crowd! You guys were amazing! Thankyou!April 24, 2006 at 12:56 am #4973Deleted UserMemberWe Did It!
My son, Connor, and I ran the Sun Run today proudly wearing out "MEDICARE FOR AUTISM NOW!" t-shirts. We set ourselves a goal to finish the 10K in 90 minutes and we actually did it in a few minutes less; good for us. My husband, Mark, ran with us and paced us. We are so proud of Connor for training for the last few months and for running today. It wasn't easy for him but he's a champion.
I wanted to publicly thank Courtney Phillips and other FABA therapists for organizing this group. I hope "MEDICARE FOR AUTISM NOW!" continues to enter other events. We will definitely participate again. It was a gorgeous day.
Thank you!

April 21, 2006 at 3:10 am #4975Courtney MapsonMemberHi all Sun-Runners!
Seeing as there are many people coming from the Fraser Valley side – I'll be meeting at a Starbucks tomorrow night (Friday night) at 8pm.
Address is: 8898 152nd St, Surrey
I'll have the t-shirts and timing chips for those of you in the Surrey/Langley/White Rock/Abbot. area. My phone number is 604-220-3797. I will only wait for about 15-20 minutes, so please try to be on time!!! I"ll be wearing a light green/white Columbia jacket and will be the person with a big box! If anyone else wants to trek that way also, great!
I'll be sending out an email later tonight with pickup time and place for Vancouver for Saturday evening.
Thanks!
Courtney

cpaigemapson@burnabyorthopaedic.comApril 19, 2006 at 11:03 pm #4977Courtney MapsonMemberHi All you Sun Runners! I just got our t-shirts and timing chips/numbers today.
I am hoping to set up some meeting places and times for everyone to come pick up their t-shirts and chips from me before Sunday as I am taking the Sky-train in and don't want to be lugging a huge box full of things.
I'll email you with that informaiton later though (sometime tonight). It'll likely be Thurs, Fri night in 2 different locations (b/c I know everyone is coming from different places!)
Here's where we're going to meet on Sunday morning. The race starts at 9am, so I think we should meet at 8:15 at:
SW corner of Canada Place/Waterfront and Howe. See map below. Pan pacific will be right across the street.
I know 8:15 is early, but with 50,000 people expected to come, I would rather arrive early and be able to find everyone!
Come prepared with clipboards, pens and printouts of the Petition (http://www.featbc.org) –
Let me know if you have any other suggestions etc. Please forward this email along to anyone else you know who is registered.
The following people are on my email list and emailed me saying they were going to register, but I don't have your name on my list (just want to make sure they didn't make any errors and leave people off my list):
-Barb McLeod
-Jamie Scriver
-Jennifer V.Look for another email sometime this evening. Thanks!
If you didn't get this same message in an email, please email me because it means that I don't have you on my group email-list.
