PLAYLAND EXIT PASS
If your child likes Playland rides but is not ready to learn to wait in line, you can go to Guest Services to get an Exit Pass. The pass allows you to go in via the exit gate for each ride, thus bypassing the lineup at the entrance gate.
Even though the pass says "one time exit pass", the Guest Services people always cross out the "one time" and write "all day." Since I have a family of four, they've been putting a "plus 3" on the pass to make sure all of us can ride together. If a new employee neglects to make the changes, I just remind them to do it and to initial it.
Have fun.

i live in the fleetwood area of surrey and my three-and-a-half year old daughter has recently been diagnosed with pdd-nos. we are two weeks into her aba therapy.
i would love to hear from anyone who lives locally to us, and is going through the same thing with a similar aged child.
i am hoping that we will be able to share our experiences, so that we can support one another through this difficult time.

They will do the payroll, submit all required deductions to the gov't (except WCB), deposit pay into accounts directly and do ROE at the end of the year or the termination of employee. The cost is resonable. Also for every person who signs on with payworks they will make a 25.00 donation to F.E.A.T. of B.C.
Cost info:
Payroll per run 12.50
per employee 1.25
ROE's 1.25
One time set up fee 25.00
Year end service per run 12.50
per tax form 1.25Contact Kiran Nagra @ 604-460-2862
remember to say that you are with Families for Early autism treatment and you want them to donate the 25.00June 16, 2008 at 6:35 am #5378Mike & Rachel GoetzParticipantPut aside, for a moment, any pre-conceived notions you may have about Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy, or your feelings about various treatment methods and the like.
I found the message in this article is something very meaningful and appreciated:

June 10, 2008 at 8:25 pm #5380Super DadParticipantThe article quotes Temple Grandin:
"The problem is, you talk to parents with a low-functioning kid, who've got a teenager who still goes to the bathroom in his pants and who's biting himself all the time. This guy destroys the house, and he's not typing, no matter what keyboards you make available. His life is miserable. It would be nice if you could prevent the most severe forms of nonverbal autism."
My comment is that a child does not need to be nonverbal to be miserable. Anyone who is severely affected will experience extreme frustration, regardless of how much he is accepted by people around him.

June 10, 2008 at 6:01 pm #5381Jemma LeeParticipantI really wish the media would stop reinforcing the attention-seeking behaviour of these "neurodiversity" people. The article says opponents call these people "deluded", but that's just half the picture. Many of them want the fame and fortune of Temple Grandin but are not nearly as clever, so they resort to any method imaginable, often at the expense of truly disabled children. I am so sick and tired of this bull crap.

June 5, 2008 at 4:19 am #5383Darlene JosephMemberWe are looking for suggestions from other parents whom have similar challenges regarding their child's self-stim behaviours. Our consultant from MAPCL Christine Peterson and our 3 1/2 year old son's support worker at school, suggest many things and we are all trying things through trial and error to help decrease his strong attachment to objects such as clothing that he just constantly looks for and wags them in front of his face in (visual tracking). Consultant says to replace it, but with what? We've tried many things, and we are constantly trying many new plans. I read a book that Temple Grandin wrote and she says that she was never allowed to engage in any stimming behaviours. For now we try this, but it's tiring having to constantly be on him also to stop the behaviour.
Our question:
Does anyone know if ABA therapy, that he gets, should diminish the need to engage in those stimming behaviours. Because it does not seem to be diminishing. Any suggestions I'd appreciate it, you can email me at darjo74@hotmail.com -
