    Hi Andrew

Disgusting and despicable, the present state of affairs in the treatment of folks with developmental disabilities in Ontario. Ontario is a particularly corrupt and wasteful provincial government, not to mention one that prides itself on being so 'progressive'; all of which make stories like these so heartbreaking and grating. We're no great shakes here in BC either, but every time I hear about the state affairs in Ontario, I thank God we don't live there.

So in other words Andrew, NO – you are NOT being too cynical ( it is THEM), and YES – every time you hear a politician speak, you are likely hearing BS.

So, fight 'em folks – politicians, bureaucrats, agencies, etc. Of course, work with them if you can. But hold them accountable, shame them, embarrass them, pressure them, go over their heads if you cannot. It is just the right thing to do. Pretty damn sure God (if there is one) is on our side!

Folks, snake oil is alive and well and still doing real harm:

    http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/a-family-nightmare-p-e-i-father-falsely-accused-of-sexually-assaulting-autistic-non-verbal-daughter

Pretty hard to fathom, but rubbish like Facilitated Communication not only persists, but in some cases, is publicly funded.
