We are currently looking for a new dentist, our dentist has retired. Our son will sit in the chair & open his mouth, but has not had any success in having much dental work done in the office, we have unfortunately had to put him to sleep & get the work done that way, which we find very stressful. I'm wondering if anyone has a dentist that they can recommend that they have had success with and would be willing to work towards getting dental work done in the chair, and if absolutely necessary then we would have him put to sleep.
We live in Port Coquitlam, but are will to travel to outside of Port Coquitlam for the right dentist.
Thanks in advance for your help,

Hello all,
I very appreciate all of you spending time to respond to my questions regarding dental treatment. I did not have time to respond to each of your email and would like to post my thanks here.
After reading your responses, I called the PDG where my child goes to and told them I would like to have public funded option. They first said it took 9 months of wait. I agreed to wait for it. When it came to actually put his name down for that, another receptionist told me it took 3-4 months.
I am very glad to have your responses and support for my questions. Thank you very very much,Tina

Hello all,
I have some questions regarding dental and hope that I can get some advice from here.
I took my nine year-old child to the dentist at Oakridge PDG and was told he needed to have two permernant teeth filled ( they tried temporary filling a couple months ago for those teeth). The dentist me that the rent for private room at a private hospital costs $365/hour and it might take up tow two hours to fill two permernant teeth and a few baby teeth that had cavity. I asked him about public hospital and was told it would take up to a year.
I wonder if you have experienced similar thing and if that is true that private is the only way one can go since it seems to take so long to wait for public service?
Have you any suggestions/ advice?
My child is so freak out when it has to do with his teeth so the dentist said the only way was to do it at the hospital and put him to sleep.
I can be contacted by email to tnkaccount@gmail.com or you can post your answers here so others can benefit from them as well. Thank you very much in advance for your help.Tina
