BI for home program needed (Vancouver west)
Looking to hire a BI for home-based ABA program with our seven years old son with mild ASD (some language delay and delays in social skills). Our son is humorous, and enjoys having fun. He has been doing well with the program.
Training will be provided. Sessions would be 2-3 hours, 2-3 times a week. (either one after school session and one weekend session; or two after school session)
Our program is intensive and very typical of an ABA program consisting of teaching some basic academics, especially related to language (reading, writing), interactive play and some other language related skills.
Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience):
– ABA experience an asset
-be able to provide criminal record check (within last 12 months)
-the desire to make a difference in a child's life
-have great fondness for kids and great passion for her job
-compassionate and patient personality
-excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
-excellent oral and written communication
-accurate data taking skills
-open for new learning and suggestions; a team player
-strong creativity and great play skills
-be at least 19 yrs old
-be willing to commit for longer period of timeEducation: College/University

We are looking for someone who is fun and energetic. ABA experience is preferred but we are willing to train if applicant has experience working with ages 2-5 in a preschool environment.
All training is provided by a board certified Behavioral Consultant. Applicants with an ECE certificate are encouraged to apply as well as individuals attending or trying to complete 1000 hours to attend the ABA program.Our son has many programs such as receptive instructions, manding, open and closed ended play, expressive instructions, token system It is a great opportunity for someone who would like to gain experience in this field
We are looking for 2 BIs to start in September (possibly do some training the last week of August) to work 2-3 times per week for 2.5-3 hours. The session times available are Mon, Wed, Friday 9-12 and/or Tues, Thurs, Fri afternoons 2-5. Plus, there would be a monthly team meeting to attend (1-2hours).
All applicants must:
have own transportation, be at least 19 years of age, be willing to submit a current criminal record check (non-negotiable), FLUENT in English, non-smoker, have experience as a BI OR working with young children, have energy and be enthusiastic, be willingly to make at least a 12 month commitment, be willing to collect data, reliable, consistent, work well on their own or as part of a group and enjoy playing with children (sing songs, read books, puzzles, playing on the floor, painting etc).

We are looking for a behavioural interventionist to work with our 7 year old son in the summer and sustain in the fall. This position will include home programming and some support at camp. His program largely focuses on social skill development and inferential reasoning skills and is supervised by Michele Shilvock BCBA with Harmony House CARES.
Available hours are from 4:00-6:00 three days per week at home and a few days a week of full day camp support. Both home-based training and monthly supervision are provided.
The ideal candidate has experience working with students with autism and ABA, but not required and is energetic and is full of humour.

Work will include following tasks and programs as outlined by the behaviour consultant for academic, social skills, and functional life skills.
