September 6, 2013 at 10:52 pm #8380Kim KirschParticipantFall 2014 Student Support Worker Position
Posted on behalf of a familyOne of our Vancouver families is proactively seeking an experienced ABA therapist / BI to recommend to the School District as a Student Support Worker (SSW) for their 11 year old son who has been in a Lovaas ABA program for the past 8 years. The position will be for the 2014-2015 school year.
From now until August 2014, the family would like the ABA therapist to work part time in order to become familiarised with their son's program and establish a strong working relationship with the child and his ABA home support team. Upon entering the school system, this person should expect to be involved in the family home ABA team and attend their monthly team meetings. This is a good opportunity to work with an experienced, positive and supportive family, team and consultant. The home team is happy to provide as much support as needed and would like to have a collaborative relationship in and out of school.
If you are interested and would like more information, please reply to vancouveraba123@gmail.com with a description of your experience and/or a CV/resume. Thank you.

Carolina HallSeptember 6, 2013 at 1:23 am #8382Carolina HallMemberMy name is Carolina Hall and I am planning on relocating to the lower mainland. I am a Behavioural Consultant here in Alberta and own my own consulting agency called Creative Minds Consulting. My experience has been doing in home specialized programming as a clinical coordinator, as well as a District Behavioural Consultant for our public school district. I was just wondering what the need or interest might be for a Behavioral Consultant there? My background is in ABA but has also evolved into a more play based and functional approach. I have been advised to apply to be on the RASP list but would also like to work with children over 6. I have my Masters in Counselling Psychology and am in the process of becoming a Certified Counsellor/Psychotherapist. I am also eligible to be a Registered Psychologist here in Alberta. Please let me know if there is anyone I could talk to. Thanks so much for your time!
