October 24, 2013 at 10:24 pm #8426Maria GallinaroMemberHello, I am looking to join an ABASW team as a Behavior Interventionist. I plan to enroll in the ABA Support Worker Program at Surrey Community College. My search is confined to South Surrey, White Rock, Panorama/Sullivan, and possibly Cloverdale/Langley areas.
My background in the fitness industry as a BCRPA Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Yoga Teacher has enabled me to develop the skills and aptitude required for working with people of all backgrounds and abilities. Compassion and patience has been an essential requirement of my employment. I worked one on one as a personal trainer with a young woman with a disability. My experience with this individual inspired me to pursue working with children with disabilities. I am a nurturing and caring person. My passion to make a positive impact on a child's life has prompted me to pursue the ABA field. I am currently enrolled in an upcoming workshop sponsored by the Autism Society of British Columbia which takes place in November. This workshop will provide instruction on the basics of Applied Behavioral Analysis Training.
Should you feel that I would be a suitable candidate for the position that you require, please email me at lifetimefit@hotmail.com
Thank you.

My son is 6 years old, they have mentioned the arrangement will be: our ABA program will be run by a Program Supervisor (working on becoming a BCBA) instead of a Program Manager (BCBA) as currently the agency doesn't have a Program Manager available, and this is mainly the set-up for 6 and above cost-wise.
