Socialization and Behavior Worker Available Friday AfterSchool.. I have 2 openings available for kids ages 10 – 18 with high functioning Autism to join my outings group friday from after school to evenings. I have been working as a Behavior and Socialization specialist for over 10 years outside of school hours. I am currently employed by the Surrey School District in a specialty program, working with students who are at risk to offend, and violent offenders. I also have 22 years experience working with children with disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. I facilitate relationship building, the responsibility of being a leader, and exercising that right. I emphasize the importance of social etiquette, and fair play. These qualities play a large roll in gaining independence and self-worth. I am looking for children who are receiving Autism funding, and need to utilize their funds in the areas of behavior or socialization deficits. Please feel free to contact me for any other information. taylor_janet@surreyschools.ca or janetsea@shaw.ca

A colleague of mine, who is a website developer, as well as an advocate for evidence-based education, is working on creating a website for teaching social skills. The activities on this website will be for kids with and without ASD. He is currently looking for research participants for the website, to field-test the activities. All activities have been based on current research, and have also been reviewed by professionals in the field of education and ABA.
