An outstanding opportunity to work in the field of ABA and behaviour intervention with youth diagnosed with autism:
ABA Teaching Homes have been set up for youth diagnosed with autism, supported by board certified behavior analysts from Canada and the US. This is an excellent opportunity to work with youth, implementing individualized programs and behaviour management systems. Excellent training and supervision will be provided.
The students being supported in these homes are active, and as part of their behaviour management, staff will be required to participate with them in home and community based recreational activities. Therefore, it is essential that applicants are in good physical condition and can participate in these activities.
Standard checks and certificates will be required for the successful applicant.
We are currently recruiting male and female applicants for full time, part time and casual/auxiliary positions in our North Vancouver, Vancouver and Surrey locations. Staff will be required to work a minimum of two shifts per month and attend all team meetings and consults.

WHY DO OUR WHY DO OUR KIDS DO WHAT THEY DO ?A Presentation by Katie Allen M.Sc., BCBA
Functional analysis is considered a best practice for identifying the causes of problem behavior such as self-injury, aggression, stereotypy and noncompliance.
Functional analysis methodology is an assessment strategy that identifies sources of reinforcement that maintain problem behavior and prescribes individualized interventions that directly alter the conditions under which behavior occurs (Brian A. Iwata, 2005).

March 23, 2014 at 7:20 pm #8612Denise UreMemberLooking for an ABA SW for South Surrey High School for Sept/14.
We are looking for an ABA SW to continue with our sons programming at a South Surrey high school in September, 2014. He will be entering Grade 10. The Bases program at his high school is a highly supportive environment for ABA SWs to work in. Our consultant, Sarah Pastrana, works with the Bases classroom teacher to develop the school programming, which is reflected in his IEP. Sarah is available and provides regularly scheduled, ongoing support during the school year. Our son has made tremendous progress over the past three years with his current ABA SW and we are really excited to see this continue.
Our son is a smart, funny and compliant young man. He has a great behaviour program in place which has been very successful.
Applicants require 1,000 supervised ABA hours and need to have completed or be enrolled in the Surrey College ABA SW program by September. Also, we would like to be able to start some training at his school in May/ June so some overlap sessions could be done with his current ABA SW.
