    Behaviour Interventionist Needed (Coquitlam)

    Seeking a behaviour interventionist for our well stablished ABA team in Coquitlam area. Our son is 9 years old. He is a smart, active and easy to work with child and has a strong sense of humour. The team is leading by our BCBA behaviour consultant.
    although experience in the field is an asset, we will consider providing you with all the required training. This is an opportunity for those seeking experience in the fields of psychology, education, and/or speech & language pathology.
    Under the supervision of our behaviour analyst, your role will be to systematically and scientifically teach our son communication, social and behavioural skills. You are required to collect data throughout your one on one sessions and at a monthly team meeting, discuss the progress of the programs with the team.

    You would have 2-3 sessions per week (2-3 hours per session).

    Requirements for this position are as follows:
    -At least 19 years of age
    -Strong play skills
    -Recent criminal record check
    -Fluent speaking English
    -Provide 2 professional references
    -Have reliable transportation
    -Be available to attend team meetings (once a month mostly on Monday evenings)

    Behaviour Interventionist – Oakridge area, Vancouver

    We looking for a BI to join our home team and to work with our social, enthusiastic and nonverbal 14-year-old son with a developmental disability secondary to a chromosomal diagnosis.  

    We are working with a wonderful Behavioural Consultant, Justine Banigan who would provide ongoing training.  Program focus is on  functional communication using Touch Chat, as well as developing independence in life skills, academics and social skills both at home and in the community.  Previous experience is an asset, but not required.  

    This position will appeal particularly to people with an interest in special education, speech/language pathology, and related fields, and is an excellent opportunity for those looking for experience in teaching and supporting individuals with special needs. 

    Sessions are 2 hours long and held twice a week after school on weekdays and Saturday mornings.  Summer schedule can be flexible. Team meeting once a month.  More hours may be available going forward.

    Minimum 1y commitment required.  Compensation based on qualification and experience.

    Behaviour Interventionist needed for preschool starting September 2018

     

    Location: Pitt Meadows

    Days: Tuesday & Thursday 9 – 12pm

    Rate: $15-20 (depending on qualifications)

    We are looking to add another BI to our team to help with support for our son when he starts preschool in September 2018.

    Our son will be 3 when he starts preschool. He is verbal, high energy, loves to run, sing, do puzzles and look at books. You will be working on ABA goals / programs that our behaviour consultant will create. Wages will be dependent on qualifications. Training will be provided and will start mid-july / beginning of August.  BCBA is Lindsay Parrott.

    We are looking for a fun and energetic individual who loves to work with young children for the role of Behavioural Interventionist in the Brentwood, Burnaby area (near skytrain). This BI will provide ABA focussed treatment support for our high-functioning ASD 5 years old son in areas where our son needs special attention. 

    If you are currently studying in the fields of education, speech and language pathology, nursing, or psychology and love to work with children, this position will give you experience in working with kids with special needs and in working within a multidisciplinary team. Training and guidance will be provided by Kim Kirsch, BCBA as well as additional support as needed from our Occupational Therapist. 

    This is a permanent part-time position starting at a minimum of 8-12 hours per week with potential for additional hours to be added later. Postition starts ASAP with specific working hours to-be-determined (some flexibility). 

    Focussed Treatment primarily in areas of:

    • Social Behaviour
    • Problem Behaviour and Self-Regulation
    • Focus and Instruction Following

    Requirements:

    • Must love to play, engage, move as physical play is important part of our intervention program 
    • Be a team player and work with minimum supervision
    • Able to accept feedback and dedicated to ongoing learning
    • Able to be creative and problem solve
    • Have the ability to track and record the child’s progress
    • Have experience working with young kids
    • Plan on working with kids and/or special needs as a future career
    • Have or working on undergraduate degree in psychology, education or related disciplines
    • Must have clear criminal check and be a minimum of 19 years of age

    Compensation: $14-25/hr DOE

Applicants should be fun, energetic, patient, kind, self-directed, and punctual. They should be at least 19 years of age, have strong communication, play and organizational skills. Prior experience with running ABA sessions/ABA theory training, collecting data using various methods and having personal reinforcers are assets, but not required. Applicants must be able to commit to a monthly team meeting in addition to their regular sessions.

    Sessions ideally would take place in the afternoon from 12:45 onward, although morning sessions would be possibly considered for the right applicant. Days and times are flexible. Sessions will be approximately 2-2.5 hours long.

    The behavioural interventionists will work under the supervision and guidance of Shawna Poznikoff (BCBA) and Dr. Sara White (BCBA).
