    {Hello Autism Tutors and Therapists}

The time has come again: We need a new lead therapist for our team in central Vancouver (near Cambie and 22nd Avenue.)

Our twelve year old daughter is high functioning, verbal, gentle, affectionate, and entertaining. Her therapy is fascinating, and her progress is swift. She has been doing ABA for ten years. We work under the guidance of Kim Kirsch and the Early Autism Project, hence, it is a home-based ABA program which is supervised by a well-respected BCBA.

Previous experience with ABA programs is a must and previous lead experience would be swell, but as long as you seem bright, caring, and capable, we are interested. A criminal record check will be obligatory. Initial training will be provided by our lead therapist along with follow up sessions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: running sessions on your own, preparing for team meetings once a month, overlapping with our consultant, providing reports to the consultant, working on scheduling, and overlapping therapists. You will also need to provide feedback to the therapists and ourselves, train new therapists, oversee data recorded, probe new targets, and coach the team.

You will also be picking our daughter up from school, recording data, facilitating playdates, helping with home living skills, and working with her on her fine and gross motor challenges.

Our team meetings are currently held once a month on a Wednesday evening from 5:00-6:30 and sessions are from 3:00 to 5:30, five days a week: you’d have two or three of them. We also ask that you are able to commit to the team for at least one year.

You should be FUN, responsible, dedicated, and creative. You need to have strong play skills, a positive attitude, and lots of energy and patience. You are a good multitasker, are organized, encouraging, enthusiastic, and responsible. You need to be able to take constructive feedback and implement it immediately. Salary will be negotiable based on your experience and your performance.

If you are interested, please send a short cover letter and your resume to:m cathy.fitzhugh@gmail.com

We look forward to hearing from you, and thanks.
    Lots.

Looking for an exceptional and experienced Behaviour interventionist (in ABA) who will eventually take on the lead position on our well established team.

Our 6 year old son is incredibly intelligent, adorable, has a seriously infectious laugh and is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. He has been receiving intervention since before he was 2 so he has the whole thing down pat:-).

He has a serious love of numbers and works on advanced math and reading/writing. His request for his BI is that the person loves math! He loves multiplication, division, square roots etc. and his favourite toy is his calculator. You get the picture.

We are looking for someone to do 2.5 or 3 hour sessions from 3-530/6PM for 2-3 shifts per week as well as attending monthly team meetings. Days of the week and start date are somewhat flexible.

You will be trained by the current lead therapist as well as through our phenomenal behavioural consultant, Rachel Russell.

Besides running your own sessions you will be responsible for the lead work which involves being in regular communication with our consultant regarding our sons's progress, reviewing the team's data and providing feedback as required, writing monthly data reports and training new therapists if needed.

Preference will be given to those with demonstrated BI experience and. Previous lead experience is a great asset but not required. In addition, anyone with the ability to read music and play piano will also be given preference as this is one of our son's other amazing skills.

Clearly a main area of focus is on the social aspect so being fun, engaging with excellent play skills are definitely required abilities.
Also you need to be at least 19 years of age and complete a criminal records check and willing to commit for at least a year.
    We are in South Surrey.
