ABA preschool-Support worker needed.
Hello everyone.
The time has come where we are looking for a support worker(SW) to assist our 4 year old son throughout preschool (starting April 2015-June 2016?). This could potentially lead to an ABA SW position with the Surrey school district when our son enters Kindergarten in Sept 2016. Our son is a delightful, fun and energetic little guy. He enjoys socially interacting with others and sharing a laugh. We live in Surrey and are looking at schools in the South Surrey area.
What happens to this person over the summer? Are you looking for this to generalize to summer camp support? Community-based support or work on the home team?
– We would like our candidates to have some ABA experience (but not necessary?- training will be provided?) back ground experience.
-Be able to attend monthly team meetings. (you may want to specify a time frame or day IE: afterschool/early evening)
– The position will require strong play skills, full personality, energetic and patience.
-Willing to learn new programming and tasks.
-Positive attitude, and be able to take constructive feedback.
-Must be 19 years older.
– Training and support will be provided by our BCBA consultant and senior therapist from Harmony House.
-Criminal back ground check required prior to starting.Please forward your resume to this address.

neelam_iyer@hotmil.comJanuary 11, 2015 at 2:29 am #8758Cathy FitzhughParticipant{Hello FEAT Readers}
The time has come again: We need a new line therapist for our team in Vancouver. Our twelve-year-old daughter is high functioning, verbal, affectionate, and entertaining. Her therapy is fascinating, and her progress is consistant. She has been doing ABA therapy for ten years. We work under the guidance of Kim Kirsch and the Early Autism Project, hence, it is a home-based ABA program which is supervised by a well-respected BCBA.Training will be provided by our current lead, who is amazing. (You are in luck.)
You need to be fun, responsible, dedicated, and creative. You should have strong play skills, a positive attitude, and lots of energy and patience. You are a good multi-tasker, are organized, encouraging, enthusiastic, and responsible. Previous experience with ABA programs is a plus, but as long as you seem bright, caring, and capable, we are interested. A criminal record check will be obligatory.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: picking our daughter up from school, recording data, facilitating playdates, helping with home living skills, and helping her with fine and gross motor challenges. You would have three sessions a week that run from 3:00 to 5:50, and would need to attend a team meeting, held once a month, from 5:00 to 6:30.
If you are interested, please send your resume to:
cathy.fitzhugh@gmail.comWe look forward to hearing from you.
{And thanks.}
