    Hello!

    I am a highly experienced BI who is currently employed as an ABA SW during the school year. I am staying with my family in the White Rock/South Surrey area for the summer and am looking to pick up some hours! I am available from now until September 8th. I was thinking respite, outings, play dates, etc. would probably be best as I wouldn't require much if any training – but I can by all means follow a behaviour plan, incorporate current goals, run programs and take data if necessary. If this is something you'd be interested in please e-mail me at: lindsaypdavies@gmail.com

    Thanks,
    Lindsay

    {Hello FEAT Readers}

    The time has come yet again! We need a new line therapist for our team in Vancouver (near Cambie and 20th,) for training now, to begin work in September.

    Our thirteen-year-old daughter is high functioning, verbal, affectionate, and very entertaining. Her therapy is fascinating, and her progress is consistent. She has been doing ABA therapy for eleven years. We work under the guidance of Kim Kirsch and the Early Autism Project, a home-based ABA program. Training will be provided by our current lead, who is amazing. (You are in luck.)

    You need to be fun, responsible, dedicated, and creative. You should have strong play skills, a positive attitude, and lots of energy and patience. You are a good multi-tasker, are organized, encouraging, enthusiastic, and responsible. Previous experience with ABA programs is a plus, but as long as you seem bright, caring, and capable, we are interested. A criminal record check will be obligatory as is an ability to commit to the team for a year.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: picking our daughter up from school, recording data, facilitating playdates, helping with home living skills, supporting social skills, and helping her with fine and gross motor challenges.

    Come September, you would have two or three sessions a week that, run approximately, from 3:00ish to 5:30ish, and would need to attend a team meeting, held once a month, from 5:00 to 6:30. Right now we're on a summer schedule, which is a bit more flexible, and morning sessions are an option.

    If you are interested, please send your resume and a brief letter of introduction to:
    cathy.fitzhugh@gmail.com

    We really do look forward to hearing from you.

    Yay.

    {Thanks}

    We are looking for an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Therapist to join our established home based team in South Surrey under the direction of Behaviour Consultant Leah Mumford, M.Ed, BCBA.

    Our son is 12 years old and has been in an ABA program for 8 years. He continues to make amazing gains and is very verbal, social and imaginative. His interests include video games (currently Minecraft), telling stories, reading, and hanging out with friends. His ABA programs target language and communication, social skills, physical activity (running, swimming and other activities), music (bass and piano) and self-help skills. As he moves into adolescence we are preparing him (and ourselves) for the teen years and for high school. Therapists on our team run home based therapy sessions, go on community outings and facilitate hangouts with friends. They are enthusiastic, creative and reliable. They work 2-3 shifts per week on our team.

    This is a great opportunity for those wanting to work in the field of behaviour analysis, education, and psychology and who want to gain more experience working with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Ongoing supervision and training is part of the job. Shifts during the school year are 3-6pm on weekdays and mornings on the weekend.

Although no previous experience is required, applicants need to have a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and be able to accept and implement feedback accordingly. You will be trained in teaching methods to work on specific goals and collect data in order to monitor progress.

    You must be able to make at least a 1 year commitment, be at least 19 years of age, attend evening team meetings every 6 weeks, be extremely proficient in the English language and be willing to complete a criminal record check.
