ABASW Surrey School district
I am looking to hire for an ABA-SW position for September 2016. This permanent position is to support a high-functioning eleven year old boy in a wonderful South Surrey School. Our son is very bright, creative and has a great sense of humour. He enjoys his social connections at school and has a supportive family. Our behaviour consultant is Michele Shilvock-Lannon.
Applicants should have 1000 hours of ABA home experience (or close), they should be able to work collaboratively with the family, educational team, take direction from the consultant, and be prepared to take amazing data. You must be organized, on time, have a good sense of humour, a fun-loving spirit, and a high degree of awesomeness. Applicants will also be expected to attend monthly team meetings. I would prefer someone with experience with advanced learners or children with anxiety, sports skills, and a strong ability to support academics, executive functioning, and social interactions. We look forward to hearing from you.
Please send your resume with cover letter and references to teamredthree@gmail.com
Applicants must meet all criteria for the Surrey School District, must have drivers licence, criminal record check, and strong references from families and at least one behaviour consultant.April 2, 2016 at 7:11 pm #10853Cathy FitzhughParticipant{Hello FEAT Autism Tutors and Therapists}
We are currently looking for a new lead therapist for our team, located in central Vancouver (Cambie and 22nd Avenue.)
Our fourteen year old daughter is high functioning, verbal, gentle, affectionate, and entertaining. Her therapy is fascinating, and her program is varied. She has just started high-school and has been doing ABA therapy for twelve years. We work under the guidance of Kim Kirsch and the Early Autism Project, hence, it is a home-based ABA program supervised by a well-respected BCBA.
For this position, previous experience with ABA programs is a must and previous lead experience would be swell, but as long as you seem bright, caring, and capable, we are interested. A criminal record check will be obligator and initial training will be provided along with follow up sessions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: running sessions on your own, preparing for team meetings once a month, overlapping with our consultant, providing reports to the consultant, working on scheduling, and overlapping therapists. You will also need to give feedback to our current therapist and ourselves, train new therapists, oversee data recorded, probe new targets, and coach the team.
You would be picking our daughter up from her after school bus-drop-off, recording data, helping with home living skills, and working with her on her fine and gross motor challenges.
Our team meetings are currently held once a month on a Wednesday evening from 5:00-6:30 and youd have three sessions a week: from 3:30ish to 6:00. We also ask that you are able to commit to the team for at least one year.
You should please be FUN, responsible, dedicated, and creative. You need to have strong play skills, a positive attitude, and lots of energy and patience. You are a good multi-tasker, are organized, encouraging, enthusiastic, and responsible. You need to be able to take constructive feedback and implement it immediately. Salary will be negotiable based on your experience and your performance.
If you are interested, please send a short cover letter and your resume to: cathy.fitzhugh@gmail.com
We look forward to hearing from you, and thanks.
Lots.{Cathy Fitzhugh}
