BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONIST PART-TIME POSITION AVAILABLE
Accepting resumes for the position of Behavioral Interventionist to work with a child diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum.
Description of duties:
You will be working in the home of a child diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum Disorder, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. During your sessions, you will work one-on-one with the child; model age-appropriate play, communication, and social skills; and take data. Games like puzzles, building blocks, pushing cars and trains, singing songs, and drawing are included on every session. You will incorporate specific goals during play and table-work, and track progress on data-sheets at the end of each session, which is expected to last between 2½ -3 hours; 3 to 5 times per week.Qualifications:
– Minimum age for applicants is 19.
– Any experience with special needs children a definite asset.
– Applicants with an education in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or Physical Therapy are encouraged to apply.

I have 2 families who are both looking to add therapists to their well-established home teams. Both live on the North Shore, within minutes of eachother. If you are interested, you do not have to commit to both teams, but that is an option if you are looking for lots of hours.
Both ABA teams are run under the supervision of the FANTASTIC consultant, Rachel Russell. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is wanting to get some high quality training and who is interested in pursuing this as a career. Possible advancements to Case Manager and Senior Therapist are also an option.
Therapy hours in the Summer varies, but in the fall, therapy will take place afterschool, evening and weekends. You must be willing to commit to 2 shifts per week plus team meetings (every other week), and be willing to make a 1 year commitment.

The job of Therapist/Tutor would require a commitment of 4-6 hours per week. Each shift would be 2 hours long. Experience working with autistic children would be preferred but is not mandatory. Training will be provided.
Enthusiasm, dedication, reliability and a willingness to learn are required. Energy and a positive attitude is a must.
Therapy/Tutor sessions will take place in our home located in Port Moody, B.C. A minimum of a one (1) year commitment is required. A current criminal record check will be required. Wages will depend on experience.

A youth with a diagnosis of autism is supported in a residential setting with a 24 hour, one to one, ABA trained staff. Supervision and training are provided from qualified, BCBA Behavioural Consultants Dr. Richard Foxx, and Sharon Baxter.
Auxiliary positions are available for 8.5 hour shifts 7:00am to 3:30pm, 2:30pm to 11:00pm, and 10:45pm to 7:15pm (awake).
