PART TIME, LONG-TERM ABA INTERVENTIONIST POSITION (Coquitlam)

Currently seeking part-time line therapist to join established team and work with our adorable and funny 3-year-old HF autistic son. We have local ABA consultant (Alaknanda Majumdar of Miles Of Smiles) who creates all programs for us and provides ongoing, thorough training. ONE YEAR COMMITMENT TO TEAM REQUIRED.

We are currently looking to fill a minimum of two shifts per week, plus biweekly team meetings (one hour).

Applicant must attend team meetings and training. Current criminal record check must be provided by applicant. Ideal part time position for university student…must be 19 years or older.

Our family is eagerly looking for therapists (tutors), both senior and junior, to join a NEW home based ABA program, that we are currently setting up for our recently diagnosed, very charming and playful high functioning 3 year old son.

Previous experience working with children with Autism would be fantastic, but is not essential. Individuals interested in psychology, education, speech pathology or any other career involving children are welcome.

We are guided on this journey by our Consultant, the very capable and passionate, Kathryn Theroux from the Able Clinic.

This is a great opportunity to receive training and hands on experience in ABA therapy with minimal initial qualifications. What you should have is lots of energy and patience, strong play skills, a positive attitude and good multi-tasking abilities. Enthusiam, dedication, reliability, an open mind and a willingness to learn are most desirable.

As a therapist you need to be able to commit to: two or three, 3 hour shifts each week, in addition to attending bi-weekly team meetings.

Salary is negotiable and is based on experience; only apply if you are a natural at relating to children. We will ask that you make a one-year commitment to the team and as a matter of course, we will require a criminal record check.

***ABA THERAPIST NEEDED TO WORK AT SMALL WORLD PRESCHOOL ***

An experienced ABA therapist is needed to attend preschool with our 5 year old son.

Shifts will be 9:15-11:30 Monday to Friday starting in January 2008.

A training period would begin in December.

Aside from Preschool hours applicants must be able to attend a team meeting for 1.5 hours.

Wage will be determined by the Delta School Board as this is for an Overage Preschool Year.
