October 29, 2016 at 2:17 pm #22170Cathy FitzhughParticipant{Hello FEAT Readers}
Hiya. We are looking for a new ABA therapist for our team in Vancouver (near Cambie and 20th.)
Our fourteen-year-old daughter is high functioning, verbal, affectionate and entertaining. Her therapy is fascinating, and her progress is consistent. She has been doing ABA for twelve years. We work under the guidance of Kim Kirsch and the Early Autism Project, hence, it is a home-based ABA program, supervised by a well-respected BCBA. (Your training will be provided by Kim and our current lead.)
You need to be fun, responsible, dedicated, and creative. You should have strong play skills, a positive attitude, and lots of energy and patience. You are a good multi-tasker, are organized, encouraging, enthusiastic, and responsible. Previous experience with ABA programs is a plus, but as long as you seem bright, caring, and capable, we are interested. A criminal record check will be obligatory as is an ability to commit to the team for at least one year.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recording data, facilitating playdates, helping with home living skills, supporting basic academic and social skills, and assisting with fine and gross motor challenges.
You would have three sessions a week. Weekday options are would be on: Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. During the week sessions run approximately, from 3:15ish to 6:00ish. You would also need to attend a team meeting, held once a month, from 5:00 to 6:30.
If you are interested, please send your resume and a brief letter of introduction to: cathy.fitzhugh@gmail.com
We really do look forward to hearing from you.
{Thanks}

October 28, 2016 at 1:34 pm #22164Elaine RaynaultKeymasterABA SW in High School working with an Awesome young man
Do you have 1000 hours of ABA experience or close? Would you like to work as an ABA Support Worker in the Surrey School District or are you already an SW and looking for a change?
We are looking for someone extraordinary to join our grade 10 son’s team. Our amazing SW of 5 years will be leaving us after spring break and we are are looking for someone excited and passionate about working in the older grades of High School. We would like to find someone who will commit until the end of his overage year/grade 13 and possibly beyond. Bell to bell (approx 32 hour) position begins in either March or September 2017.
This is a unique opportunity to step into a position working hand in hand with an experienced, supportive and involved family, team and consultant Leah Mumford at a small ABA friendly and accommodating school.
You must have exceptional communication and generalization skills and be excited about taking a long running program to the next level. Our son’s program is very focused on language building and expansion, and continues to make steady progress in all areas of academics as well. These will be unique years where we explore interests, life skills and vocational options.
The student is an easy-going, sweet, funny, gentle, sensitive and dynamic young man. He loves to be active and is up for almost anything. He loves the outdoors, everything related to the water (swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, going to the beach etc.), hands on classes like textiles and wood working, and music.
***MAJOR BONUS POINTS IF YOU PLAY GUITAR!!!Please be very clear about why you want to work as a Support Worker in school. We hope to find a match who is interested in completing grade 13, with our son, so this is at least a three year possition.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Due to the responses I have gotten from this ad in the past, I need to clarify that to qualify for this position you MUST have 1000 hours or close to 1000 hours of home ABA experience under the supervision of a board certified Behavior Consultant. You need to fulfill the requirement set by SD36 and successfully apply to the district in order to make this match. Only those chosen for an interview will be contacted.
