I have a computer system for sale that has some softwares for speech, it has touch screen monitor that helped a lot when our daughter could not use mouse. It act as a great therapy tool. We are looking for another therapist to join our awesome team. Our daughter is 16 years old and has been in therapy for 2.5 years. We still have the same therapists that we started with two and a half years ago but need to add another therapist as we have added more shifts to her program. We are mostly working on academics, but also some social and life skills.
-Experience working with autistic children an asset although not essential as training will be provided.
-energetic and fun individual that is good with children.
-Is able to apply good judgement and problem solving skills.
-Is able to muti task.
-Is able to work independently, is committed and reliable.
Need to fill a couple of afternoon shifts (12:30ish – 3:30ish). Team meetings are once a month.This is a good opportunity to expand your experience and work with an older child.

You will be working in the home of the child diagnosed on the autism spectrum, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. During your sessions when you work one-on-one with the child, you will model age-appropriate play, communication, and social skills. Together with the child, you will play with puzzles, sing songs, dance and build blocks, push cars and trains, and anything else that the child enjoys.
You will incorporate specific goals during play and table-work, and track progress on data-sheets at the end of the session. Each session lasts approximately 3 hours, and you will be asked to work 3-5 sessions per week. Excellent play-skills are required. There will also be a brief team meeting twice a month to discuss the childs progress and discuss any concerns that may arise from the program.Qualifications:
-Must be 19 years or older
Experience with small children a must (paid training detailing specific duties is provided). Any experience with special needs children is a definite asset. Applicants with an education in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy are encouraged to apply.
