    Positions to begin March '08 – Behavioral Therapist and Consultant will be through Behavioral Solutions.

    I am looking for a bright, outgoing, playful and creative person(s) to work with my three year old daughter Ava who has recently been diagnosed with Autism.
    She is very easy going, loves one on one attention, creative, is very polite, and is a lot of fun to be with. It will be a home based program, i am looking for atleast 3 people to alternate during the week.

    Looking for a minimum of 5-6 sessions of ABA therapy per week at 2-3 hours each. You must be at least 19 years old, and willing to submit to a Criminal Record Check. Experience working with autistic children an asset though not essential as training will be provided. Is able to work independently, is committed and reliable. Able to make at least a 6-month commitment

    Wage is negotiable, and will be based on experience.

    LEAD POSITION OPENING IN WEST VANCOUVER

    We are looking for an experienced lead-therapist to lead our team of therapists. We require minimum 3 years experience as therapist in ABA and minimum one year experience as a lead with recommendation letters from 2 consultants and references from families you are working with currently. Our team comprises of 3-4 therapists including one at pre-school. Our program is home based and started in June 2006. Our son is 3 and half years old. He is high functioning, social and loads of fun to work with! Responsibilities include but not limited to running sessions on own, arranging team meetings bi-weekly, attending the consult meetings and provide report to the consultant, overlapping therapists and providing feedback to therapists and parents, training and recruiting new therapists, overseeing data recorded and their completeness, probing new targets, providing list of material needed for programs and coaching the team. We require at least one year commitment. Pay is negotiable and based on experience and performance.

    Our team is consulted by Liana Maione, a local consultant. This is a great opportunity for those who welcome frequent overlaps and opportunities to further develop their skills.

    FEAT of BC Intermediate Workshop!

    This event is taking place on Saturday, March 29th from 10am-4pm.

    Cost: $35 per person

    Location: Guildford Rec Center, Surrey, BC

    Topics that will be covered:
    – Task analysis
    – Total task presentation
    – Chaining
    – Shaping
    – ABA History
    – Prompting Methods
    – Reinforcement (including schedules of reinforcement and law of consequences)

    Topic content has been altered to allow for additional group work time as the focus of the workshop will be the application of these theoretical constructs.

    Individual feedback to attendees by presenters will also be provided.

    ABA SEA Needed in Victoria

    Description: The student is an energetic, fun loving, six year old boy with autism. He will be entering grade one in September 2008 at a private school. He has an applied behavior analysis (ABA) team at home to support his learning which is consulted by Michele Fagan.

    Requirements:
    • No experience in ABA is necessary but would be an asset. The training required will be provided.
    • Attendance at monthly consult meetings with Michele Fagan (Saturdays for 8 hours)
    • Attendance at bi-weekly team meetings (2 hours)
    • Clean criminal record check
    • Commitment for the entire school year
    • Training would start in the home and school setting several months before the start of the September 2008 school year.
    • Ability to work as a team and follow teaching and behavioral procedures outlined by our behavioral consultant.
    • Daily data recording
    • Energetic and fun personality
    • School hours 8:30 to 3:00 Monday to Friday

    Wages: Based upon experience

    Term: 2008 to 2009 school year
