Looking for a BI to work on our home team, with the goal of being hired as an ABA SW in the Surrey School District (SD36) in the Fall of 2017. We expect the school support hours will be full time.
Applicants should either already be an employee of SD36 as an ABA SW, or meet all their requirements including 1,000 hours of supervised ABA experience prior to September 2017. In addition, you need to be patient and kind, have a good sense of humour and the ability to be flexible. Knowledge of video games and Lego is a total asset!
Our son is 12 years old, going into Grade 8 at Panorama Ridge Secondary School. We’ve been running a successful home program for over 3 years under our behaviour consultant Sarah Pastrana, BCBA. Our son is high-functioning, funny, kind, and social. He enjoys all things Lego, video games and is intrigued by building.
It would be ideal if you were able to have some overlap sessions with the current ABA SW in school towards the end of this school year, attend home meetings and run some home-based sessions over the summer to get to know him and build rapport before going into school in September.
Please send your resume with cover letter to doreenholmes@shaw.ca or drop me a note if you have any questions.

January 10, 2017 at 8:57 am #22464Cathy FitzhughParticipantHello There!
The time has come again: We are looking for both a line therapist AND a lead therapist for our team in central Vancouver (Cambie and 22nd Ave and also Main and 16th Ave)
Our fourteen year old daughter is high functioning, verbal, outgoing and engaging. Her therapy is varied and her progress is consistent. She has been doing ABA for twelve years. We work under the guidance of Kim Kirsch via the Early Autism Project and the program is a home-based ABA program supervised by a well-respected BCBA.
For the lead position, previous experience with ABA programs is a must and previous lead experience would be swell. For the line therapist, previous experience with ABA programs is a plus, but as long as you seem bright, caring, and capable, we are interested. A criminal record check will be obligatory for both. Initial training will be provided by our lead therapist along with follow up sessions.
Lead responsibilities include, but are not limited to: running sessions, overlapping with our consultant, preparing for team meetings once a month, providing reports to the consultant, working on scheduling, and overlapping therapists. You will also need to provide feedback to the therapists and ourselves, train new therapists, oversee data recorded, probe new targets, and coach the team.
Line therapist responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recording data, helping with home living skills, and social skills and helping with fine and gross motor challenges.
Our team meetings are currently held once a month on a Thursday evening from 5:00-6:30 and sessions are from 3:15 to 6:00, two or three days a week (you will be picking our daughter up her school bus after school.) We ask that you are seriously able to commit to the team for at least one year.
You should be FUN, responsible, dedicated, and creative. You should have strong play skills, a positive attitude, and lots of energy and patience. You are a good multi-tasker, are organized, encouraging, enthusiastic, and responsible and you need to be able to take constructive feedback and implement it immediately. Salary will be negotiable based on your experience and your performance.
If you are interested, please send a short cover letter and your resume to us at: cathy.fitzhugh@gmail.com
We look forward to hearing from you.

January 8, 2017 at 9:00 am #22458JillParticipantLooking for an exceptional and experienced Behaviour Interventionist (in ABA) to take on the lead position on our well established team.
Our 8 year old son is incredibly intelligent, adorable, has a seriously infectious laugh and is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. He has been receiving intervention since before he was 2 so he has the whole thing down pat:).
He loves math, swimming, arcades and of course, Pokémon.
We are looking for someone to do 2.5 or 3 hour sessions after school and/or on weekends, 2-3 times per week, depending on preference. In addition, you will need to attend monthly team meetings. Days of the week and start date are flexible. You will be trained by the current lead therapist as well as through our phenomenal behaviour consultant, Rachel Russell.
Besides running your own sessions you, will be responsible for the lead work which involves being in regular communication with our consultant regarding our son’s progress, reviewing the team’s data and providing feedback as required, writing monthly data reports and training new therapists if needed.
Preference will be given to those with previous lead experience but it is not required. It’s a bonus if you play an instrument as our son reads music and can play piano and would enjoy learning a new instrument.
Clearly a main area of focus is on the social aspect, so being fun and engaging with excellent play skills are definitely required assets.
Also you need to be at least 19 years of age and complete a criminal records check and willing to commit for at least a year.
We are in South Surrey. Please reply with your resume to abatherapists@gmail.com
Thank you!

Looking for a BI who is energetic, reliable, caring, and flexible to work with our 5-year-old son. Experience not necessary but an asset, we just need to find the right person for a minimum year commitment. Training provided. We’re looking for a minimum of 2 sessions for 2 hours each per week.
My son has been having home ABA sessions for 1.5 years, he is doing amazing and we have a fantastic program under Bianca Andreone. He is very verbal, energetic, hilarious, compassionate and happy. He has very few behavioral issues and we have a great support team set up. I am very involved in the program; I help my son generalize things he learns and I take quite a few courses. He attends daycare/preschool Mon-Wed, located behind Eagle Ridge hospital in Coquitlam and they are very flexible. Our BI’s do a mix of 1:1 work in a side room as well as in the classroom with other children. Home sessions are near Coquitlam Center. We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our son’s incredible ABA team. He is in Grade 1 at Bayridge Elementary, with full time bell to bell support hours. His current ABA SW will be beginning on maternity leave this February and we are looking for the right person to take over.
We are also able to offer 6 weeks at ABA Summer Camp under Leah Mumford, and the possibility of up to 16 hrs/month home ABA work and/or respite time.
While we are ideally seeking someone who is qualified to apply to the Surrey School District (1000 hours ABA) awe will consider a candidate who is currently working towards 1000 hours interested in joining our team to complete the requirement and with our current “time crunch” are also willing to consider candidates with more limited ABA experience.
Everyone who meets our guy falls head over heels in love with him and we are so lucky to have a big, supportive team ready to welcome the right member with open arms and we even have BIs eager to act as “references” for how great our Finn is!
We would ideally like to begin interviewing candidates ASAP and being training as soon as Winter Break.
