This is a special request to all parents and experienced ABA therapists:
A family from South Vancouver (near Main & Marine) URGENTLY needs some help in finding 1 or 2 experienced ABA therapists to help their 6 year old son for the month of August.
Our son will be entering Grade 1 full time this September and his therapy hours will be cut back accordingly. August will be our last chance to really work with him intensively to help him be as prepared as possible for his new school year. Unfortunately, we're going to be seriously short of therapists in August due to a variety of odd reasons. We're looking for some short term help from experienced ABA therapists who may have some extra capacity next month.
If you are a therapist who can possibly help us out, it would be sincerely appreciated if you can contact me at " c d r a n u @ y a h o o . c o m "
Or if you are a fellow parent who may know of a suitable person, please email me or pass this message on to your therapist(s). Thank you so much!
Sincerely,

July 20, 2008 at 6:33 am #10404Lis LouwrierParticipantRespite care required for September 2008.
Victoria-based family requires a respite person with ABA training to provide regular respite
1 night per week as of September 2008. Respite work could lead to therapy work should a position arise on our team in future. Previous knowledge of ABA would be an asset though training can be provided via our current team and consultant. Our consultant is Kathryn Theroux. Our kids are a lot of fun and the parents are not too bad either. We have been doing ABA for several years so you would be working with an experienced family. A loving and caring attitude is a must as well as a good sense of humour. Knowledge of Nintendo, soccer, drawing and fun board games would score high points with our sons.
If you think this type of work speaks to you please contact us at louwrier@shaw.ca.
We look forward to meeting you.

July 15, 2008 at 12:13 am #10406Tyla FrewingMemberA fantastic opportunity to work with Dr. Richard Foxx and Sharon Baxter is available. An ABA treatment home for a student who has been in an ABA program for a number of years, but continues to demonstrate challenging behaviour has been developed in Victoria BC. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced tutors to become involved in a challenging and rewarding position with a student with very unique programs and behaviour management systems. Excellent training and a high level of supervision will be provided.
Preference will be given to applicants with at least six months experience working in home-based ABA programming. The student being served at this treatment home is a very active 15 year old boy, and as a part of his behaviour management program staff are required to take him running, to the pool and to other community-based recreation activities. Therefore, it is essential that staff are in good physical condition and can participate in these activities with him; male applicants are preferred, as this student also requires assistance with personal care skills.
Interested applicants please respond by email with attached resume Attn: Tyla Frewing to tyla_frewing@yahoo.ca
