ABA SW Position (SD36) – Fall 2017

Looking for a BI to work on our home team, with the goal of being hired as an ABA SW in the Surrey School District (SD36) in the Fall of 2017. We expect the school support hours will be full time.

Applicants should either already be an employee of SD36 as an ABA SW, or meet all their requirements including 1,000 hours of supervised ABA experience prior to September 2017. In addition, you need to be patient and kind, have a good sense of humour and the ability to be flexible. Knowledge of video games and Lego is a total asset!

Our son is 12 years old, going into Grade 8 at Panorama Ridge Secondary School. We’ve been running a successful home program for over 3 years under our behaviour consultant Sarah Pastrana, BCBA. Our son is high-functioning, funny, kind, and social. He enjoys all things Lego, video games and is intrigued by building.

It would be ideal if you were able to have some overlap sessions with the current ABA SW in school towards the end of this school year, attend home meetings and run some home-based sessions over the summer to get to know him and build rapport before going into school in September.

Please send your resume with cover letter to doreenholmes@shaw.ca or drop me a note if you have any questions.
