Harmony House is pleased to announce that a two day Lead training class will be taking place on April 18 & 19th from 9-3pm. The focus is based on the advanced principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis and its application to the treatment of autism spectrum disorder. As well as including extensive information on team leadership and management. The class focus will be on direct teaching via video reviews, role plays and in class case scenario discussions. This is a great opportunity for those working in a home-based ABA program currently in a Lead role or for those interested in becoming a Lead.

April 5, 2009 at 4:24 pm #10600Kim HardingMemberI would like to change my add that was posted April 2, 2009. Due to the responses I received I realized I was not clear as to what I was hoping for.
I would like to be hired on to the Surrey School District starting in Sept., 2009. I have all the requirements to do this. I will be finished the Surrey College coarse in June and have parent and consultant references.
I am hoping to form a relationship with a child in their home environment and then tranfer into the classroom with them in September.
For all those interested I would love to forward my resume for your consideration.
Thanks
Kim Harding

I am currently in the ABA Support worker Program at Surrey College and have over 1,000 hours of training, however, a lot of my experience does not involve peer play skills. I would like to join a team where I have the opportunity to work with the child at Preschool, playdates, or accompaning them to their sports or leisure class.
I would like to say that I have a lot of experience with peer play because I have a son with autism and do respite care with another child on the spectrum, however, it was not overseen by a consultant and therefore will not show up on my resume.
I am in Delta and am willing to travel to Surrey or White Rock.
I would love to forward my resume to those interested.

March 26, 2009 at 10:58 pm #10608Nick AllanMemberSorry I can only post messages on the classifieds, the screen always freezes on me when I try to post on the other chat boards. If any one can help me figure out why, that would be great. My question is a school related one – I was wondering if those parents that have children in the West Vancouver School District (mine is entering Kindergarten) could give me any feed back on their experiences – we are in the Irwin Park catchment. Does anyone have any experience with this school? When do the schools usually hire the SEA that will work with the child. I have an appointment with the Principal and the Special Ed teacher to talk about my child to begin the front-loading. Anyone can tell me what the process is?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Nick
